I used to have them. They pretty much take up alot of room, rendering the dead pedal unusable.

See if you can get a set of BOSE kick panels. You will have to be creative if you want to install aftermarket speakers, or you can build your own. I took some particle board and build a prototype. Looks just like the stock ones and fits a 6.5"

I too will be looking for some kick panels in the comming months. All of the kick panels I have looked at - accept a tweeter and a 5.25 - 6.5 speaker. I need something that will accept just a 5.25 mid. I have a pair of MB Quartz mids NIB that I've been waiting to install. Any suggestions?

I have the Q-logic and like them. I do have an automatic, though. There is still room for my size 13 shoes in there, but it is a little less than before.

looks like ur design saves some space, but how deep of a speaker can it hold and how big in diameter, im looking to fit component systems in there i think its 5 1/4" and 2 8/18" depth, not sure

It fits 3" deep and 5.25 or 6.5" components. The design does save some foot space compared with the Q-forms. I've heard no complaints about clutch interference either.

hey check out the Year One Next Generation catalog or web site. Part #mp26 & mp27. these are map pockets with speaker pods built in that mount to the door panels. They are out of 1993-2000 Firebirds but they look like they should fit our cars and not take up foot room. At only $59.95ea. I'll be trying them for sure.

I have the set from REZN8R and they are excellent quality. I really like their tweeter placement over the Q forms.

The Q-Logic get points for being cool looking. However if you have a manual transmission that would be kind of a pain.

Re: Q-Forms Kick panels for 82-82 camaro...
Just purchased a set and installed them. Got them from crutchfield I think, or maybe q logics website. They are ok, but they don't seal around the door post very well. I lined mine with dynamat to make them sturdier.

Re: Q-Forms Kick panels for 82-82 camaro...
I tried the Q-forms in my '92 Z. I loved the sound and imaging they provided, but being a manual the forms were just to close to my clutch foot. I ended up selling them.

Re: Q-Forms Kick panels for 82-82 camaro...
i had qforms in my cutlass and didnt like them. they sortof fit the car ok, but really its just a piece of thin plastic. imaging might be decent, but dont expect to get any sort of midbass out of them whatsoever.
i just went back to my puny dash speakers in the end, and i had purchased a set of door pods from a buick regal with the concert II system but never installed those.

Re: Q-Forms Kick panels for 82-82 camaro...
shaggyowl , that is some amazing work. They look great.
I put 6.5in Pioneer's in the door's and 6x9in Pioneer's in the rear with an old Kenwood deck.
The handle will just graze the speaker cover if you push in on it when cranking. You don't want a cover that is real tall.
The combination is perfect for old school rock. You know, AC/DC, OZZY, Etc.

Re: Q-Forms Kick panels for 82-82 camaro...
My cousin put the q-logic kick panels in when he bought the car around '95. I've owned it since fall of '99. Both of us always liked the q-logics, even with the clutch/manual trans. We both used the full speaker cover that goes with the q-logic panel, makes a good place to rest your foot but does need cleaned regularly. They've never gotten in the way while shifting, not during a drag race or any other time.
Shaggyowl, I do have to compliment your kick panels. They look fantastic!!!

Ran q-forms back in the mid 90's...ended up giving them to a guy who owned a plum color Camaro at a show...went door and never looked back.

Re: Q-Forms Kick panels for 82-82 camaro...
I had some way back in the 90s when the first came out.
They fit OK, but didn't really look right. They were on the flimsy side, and I didn't like the fit/finish of them. Every time I looked at them, they just didn't look like they were really meant to be there.
Since then, I built my own using the factory panel. They turned out way better, and also sound way better too.
See the link in my signature to see how to build your own.

Been playing with my previously carpeted kicks and transitioning them to black. Here they are for a fellow member.

Re: Q-Forms Kick panels for 82-82 camaro...
That particular set sold. But I do have this last set left for a shallow 6.5" coaxial (5" cutout) that I'm looking to sell. It needs a little black paint touch up at the tops but not a big deal. Let me know if you're interested.

I would say no to a manual. Even with an auto if you put anything in the kicks it gets a little cramped, especially if you have big feet.
