Hi! I saw that there is the Camaro wide body kit for sale and on the one site they showed kind of a hack job on a Trans am which I am assuming they were trying to make the Camaro wide body kit fit to it...Does anyone know of anyone selling the actual T/A version that was out years back? I have been looking for one for almost ten years now and have had no luck. I asked a few dealers of the Camaro version and he said he bought the mold from the original company but did not buy the Trans am one. Has anyone here tried to put that kit on the Trans AM with success? I thought the one in the link in the aftermarket threads looked a little iffy...

I found an 84 TA at Pull-A-Part in Atlanta recently that had a wide body kit...fortunately I was able to remove it without too much damage (paid $145!). It looked like it had been on the car a while (paint was faded pretty bad). Someone posted the Motion kit, but this one is more subtle...no idea who made it. I'll try to post pics tomorrow.

Motion Performance made (actually still makes, I think) a wide body kit specifically for the thirdgen Firebirds. They are essentially fiberglass fenders that are bulged a few inches (to replace the steel front fenders), fiberglass rear quarter skins with similar bulges that bond directly to the steel quarter and are molded in, and a fiberglass rocker piece (my kit , and the Motion one I believe, are made for early TAs with no Ground effects, not the 85-up style). Nothing is done to the doors. Mine looks very similar to the motion kit (posted recently in another thread in the body and interior section), but more subtle, so I don't think its the same kit.
