I agree... I'd go with a better set of headers than the Edelbrocks.

Re: This is what im thinking of buying

they have AIR , coated and the Ypipe ?
summit is going slow today maybe someone could get me and direct link ?

how does it work with the AC and alternator ?
Do i need to build a custom bracket for the AC and alternator ?
I heard that the car can shake if you remove the brackets for the AC pump when you install headers ? right or wrong ?

Re: This is what im thinking of buying

yeah but it will be really expensive to get it to sweden, because we have 25 Tax on that price and 6% customsfee so it will be very very expensive maybe $1082 (if you got the same taxes as I got in sweden)
So its not cheap getting things to sweden...

Re: This is what im thinking of buying

You have a few other options, you can buy the 2055's that are not coated, you can buy the 2055's and have someone coat them for you like jet hot, you can buy some cheap already coated headers and modify them and make a 3" collector. Anyway you look at it though you want a 3" collector so you can gain the benefits of a 3" exhaust...you dont want a bottle neck in there. If you have an exhaust shop by you the edelbrocks might be your best bet then just have the exhaust shop modify them.

Re: This is what im thinking of buying

i love my 2055's mainly because there is no collector gasket. it uses a ball and socket connection which makes a good seal. if you do alot of wrenching these headers will save ya alot in gaskets plus they install like a champ and all clearances are excellent.

Re: This is what im thinking of buying

how about this ones ?

SLE-30001C : SLP Performance 4-into-1 Stainless Steel Headers $634,50
Link : http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

HOK-2055HKR : Hooker Super Competition Headers 2055 $439,95
Link : http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
Its a shame that this ones isnt coated... Getting them coated will cost some extra $$$$ its not cheap to do it in sweden...

Re: This is what im thinking of buying

I went with Hedman's... they have A.I.R. hookups and 3" collector.
They don't have them listed but I know either Jeg's or Summit offers them in ceramic coating. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...47456_-1_10605

I'm not saying they are better or worse than the Hooker's, I'm just offering a cheaper alternative.

Hope this helps!

You may have to call them... I talked to a rep at either Summit or Jegs a while back and they said they had the coated ones available.

Summit = 1-800-230-3030

Jegs = 1-800-345-4545

Re: This is what im thinking of buying

I have hooker super comp long tubes on my z28. They loved to eat up plug wires for a while but I got some header plugs to keep the boots off the headers and now its fine. I love them.

Re: This is what im thinking of buying

unless youre building a show car coating isnt overly important, nice to have and its expensive to get done anywhere, not just in europe.

both the hooker and hedman shorties are the exact same design, the hookers have a slightly thicker flange which helps reduce warping but shuoldnt really be a big deal

and i wouldnt worry about ordering a Y pipe with it. I find youre better off just going to an exhaust shop and have them custom build your downtube and y-pipe. Only difference i see is in sweden exhaust shops probably dont have 3" stainless tubing on hand, prolly have to order it in.

also reccomend you drop the 50 bucks for some copper exhaust gaskets, makes for a much nicer seal and cant be blown out like the ones thatll come with the headers. Just note its a crush type gasket so the header bolts will all need to be tightened again after a few days of driving

not sure why ur worried about your accessory brackets? the headers install from underneath the engine bay, you dont need to remove any of that stuff just leave it as is.

haha and someone made a crack about saabs, my family owned a 92 saab 9000 turbo and as much as it looked like a little old mans car, that thing ran dead on with stock foxbodies
