Seriously enjoying my GM shop manual!

Got this sweet, sweet puppy on CD off of evilbay. Authentic GM reproduction. Thoroughly enjoyed using it today to do my balljoints. I was printing off diagrams and running back and checking torques on the PDF.

Simply Awesome.

Makes my old haynes manual (which i gave away) look like a children's coloring book with half the pages missing.

I also have the GM paperback manuals for the wifes oldsmobile. However, in all its greatness the pdf version for my camaro is easier and more convenient to use. Just my opinion though! Can't go wrong with either.

Needless to say, Go buy one...NOW!

Re: Seriously enjoying my GM shop manual!

have you checked how it was scanned? i.e. are you able to search the text in the pdf, or are the pages just scanned as a series of pictures? that'd be worth it.. otherwise, i prefer having the book in my hands, even though they'll be dirty and greasy when working on the car don't want that on my phone or laptop.
sure you can print out the stuff you need before going to the garage.. but i'm sure you'll forget that special part you need most

Re: Seriously enjoying my GM shop manual!

Ya, it's a searchable .PDF

And the indexed bookmarks in the left column mimic the table of contents of the hard copy service manual.

Thanks for the heads up, Tobias. Since my original paper version is in tatters, I may pull the trigger on this deal.

Re: Seriously enjoying my GM shop manual!

Just got mine and I have to say, this thing is AMAZING. It looks like there's nearly 400 pages of wiring diagrams alone! Now to start fixing everything wrong with my car.
