Vintage Air gen IV
Been asked to post pictures and keep forgetting. It does fit and works well up to about 100 degrees, think I have an undersized condenser or an airflow problem so no complaints.

Wow, you really had to take the dash apart. I would be afraid I would break some irreplacable part. My car was originally sold in Washington so it has no A/C. Its in Texas now, so it would definitely be nice to have.
How much trouble was it to install other than pulling the whole dash out? What fabricating did you have to do?
I bet you need more airflow to solve the temperature issue.

Re: Vintage Air gen IV
I think the gap between the radiator and condenser is too big, minor details at any rait.
It is a huge job. No ac and ac cars are different. I have bought a stock condenser, was not able to use it. Plus the string in the pic holds my defrost ducts in place. Have not figured that one out yet. All the parts to the stock HVAC have to go bye bye as well.
I'll warn ya too the passenger kick panel won't fit back in, the blower motor is too big. With out that panel it's fairly loud on the higher settings. I plan on making brackets to pull it out and up a little higher so the panel will fit and sound deadening the whole thing to shut it up.
As is though no real fabrication to speak of. I cut in 2 new vents and adapted the center vents, drilled a few holes for electrical and hoses.

I could have gone up a size, eventually I may replace it. All things considered I'm a happy camper.

Super Chevy did an article on installing a Vintage Air system in a 3rd gen a few years ago. http://www.superchevy.com/how-to/add...rior-upgrades/ This can give you some additional pictures and options on one of these systems.

They don't make a custom kit for third gen. They do for first and second but we're *** out. This was a general DIY kit you have to make fit... And it does fit.
