Weatherstrip-Specialists

Anyone ever used these? They are selling them for alot cheaper than anyone else.
Inner and outer sweeps normally run 80-150 bucks for just the outer sweep, and about the same for inner sweeps. This ebay seller has them for 99.00 for inner and outer (all four). Im skeptical. Anyone used these or have bought from the seller before?

Yeah, I'd be skeptical also. All the inner sweeps I've seen come attached to the trim piece. It's possible to replace just the sweep but usually the trim gets broken in the process. It's Ebay, so ask questions of the seller before pulling the trigger.

The pictures posted in the 'auction' speak for the 'quality' of them.

The pictures dont offer much as they themselves are poor quality on my laptop, so I cant really tell what your seeing.

I do see many listed where the top trim piece is also included, but my trim is nice, so I didnt see a need to replace it. Thats not to say that it wont break if I try removing the sweep though. Ive never attempted this before.

I'm still looking for someone who has tried this set from this company before I buy them. Apparently they are made in the USA and ship out of Florida. That alone is a plus.

Re: Weatherstrip-Specialists

1AAuto has the complete sets. SoftSeal and Fairchild I believe. I paid around $500 for a complete set/ non- TTop. Inner/outter, door, upper lower

You get what you pay for.

Thats a good buy from 1aauto. 339 bucks to do basically the whole car definitely isnt bad.

I did my t-tops last spring when I bought the car. The door perimeters had already been done and are nice, and the hatch is decent. These sweeps need replaced for sure though

That's usually the point of taking awful pictures, it hides how terrible the item is.

I clarified the pictures and pointed out the dents/bends in the pictures.
If that is the best ones they had on hand to take a picture of... they are representing themselves quite poorly. You get what you pay for.

Weatherstrip - Which Ones?

What a mission to get a complete set of weatherstripping for my thirdgen. I am currently looking at two places that carry what I need. One (1a auto) will not have in stock for some time. The other (classic) has the stuff but I am unsure of the quality.

My understanding is soffseal and OES? are manufacturers. In your opinion, which is better? Problem is I cant get from 1a there out of stock. Will the (classic car) seals do the job? Quality?

Your opinion is appreciated

Tec

Re: Weatherstrip-Specialists

Actually, those sweeps you got on ebay are pretty descent! I purchased them myself. Got the outers and inners. I simply re-riveted the inner sweep to the trim. The outer, required its normal removal of half the door (lol) but its descent as well. Actually, the quality was not bad!

Just my opinion

Re: Weatherstrip-Specialists

You guys know if there is a specific weatherstrip that fits the hatch? Not just rubber strip. I have seen one and it was joined to form the oval opening of the hatch. But I cannot find anywhere else like that.

Wondering if I should get the single strip version or get the oval. Big difference but want it done right for as cheap as I can get it.
