FYI Control arm bushing, Rock Auto part #issue

I ordered the mevotech front A-arm bushing kit, part # MK6253.
I ordered one for each side, one box was correct part, the second box had the right part # but was the wrong part. I had them send up the part again, once again it was the right part # on the box, wrong part (both times they send me rear control arm bushings).
Have reported to Rock Auto, and they will hopefully have a fix.

In the mean time I ordered the Moog replacement, same part # for the most part (K6253), it's just a couple dollars more. Hopefully it's the right bushings this time.

Just sending out a heads up, this isn't exactly Rock Auto's problem either as they aren't the ones labeling and boxing them up wrong.

I would stay away from anything Mevotech. I had a set of Mevotech ball joints go bad a year after I installed them. Junk.

It appears to be the exact same stuff as the moog stuff, just re-branded.
I guess this will be a test, moog one side, mevotech the other, when I replace them for something else (I might be doing my own delalum bushings when I get lathe access).

The ball joints I got were obviously different. They had a blue boot and the stampings of the metal parts looked different. The boot was so cheap, it had a hole in it in less then a year. It cracked along the line where it was compressed between the arm and the spindle. You could be right about the bushings though. I have heard some parts are reboxed across brands.

I've had the same problems with Rock Auto, well i guess the manufacturer is to be blamed for this. It happened when I had ordered Front Lower Arms Bushing for 08 Dodge Charger. AutPartsKart has good selection of Beck Arnley products.

Beck & Arnley is import only. If they have listings on domestic, it's because there is some foreign content. In the case of the Charger, it likely still has some M-B componentry in common.

When multiple brand choices are listed on websites such as Rock Auto, the cheaper stuff might be ok, but it's a bit of a gamble. More expensive proven brands are typically more consistent with fewer surprises.

Yes, Standard is a very good brand with a long track record of high quality. Just make sure the part comes in a Standard box.
