OER brand is total junk
Last year I bought a new dash pad, an OER reproduction part. Over $500, not cheap! It was total crap! Wouldn't sit down on the dash, large divots in the top mold, unfinished edges.... it was TERRIBLE! Returned it for full refund.
So today I get a new coolant overflow tank from Ecklers and the cap won't screw on because the hole is too big. Yes, you guessed it, OER brand again. Absolutely useless part with no cap that will fit.
Avoid the OER brand. It is total junk and it is sold a lot of places.

Re: OER brand is total junk
I think the problem is knowing it is OER prior to getting it. I've also had this experience with their products. Not a quality product at all. Nothing on the packaging said OER but once opened I saw their stamp in the plastic. I don't know, kinda funky overall.

I bought my bottles here.
Very nice product and great service
I did not see OER stamped any where on them.

Re: OER brand is total junk
So the end of this story is that every factory style repop on the market is OER. Everybody is selling the same thing.
Eckler's worked with me to take a new cap and keep fitting on bottles until one went on reasonably well. Then they shipped the matched set to me at no charge. Excellent customer service.

By the way, I swear I created this thread in the aftermarket product review, not vendor review. Don't know how it got here. It doesn't belong here as I was complaining about a product, not a vendor.

Re: OER brand is total junk
My reproduction wing is OER and the screw holes were fitted by a seemingly drunk person.
I sent them a little e-mail letting them know my dissatisfaction for their lack of quality control on $400+ MSRP items

fail, most of what comes in OER boxes is leftover GM stock from way back when.

Re: OER brand is total junk
No it is not, it's all junk, thirdgen parts, 2nd gen parts, monte carlo parts, truck parts. I have had a lot fo them and they are nothing but trouble and cheap garbage.
GM restoration part does noit mean GM manufactuyred, it's a licensing thing that they simply paid for.

Re: OER brand is total junk
Most of the pieces I have bought for my car came striate from "Pick N Pull" but when I did by from another source I try to use either "Summit Racing" or 1AAuto.
They both stand by there products and offer excellent customer service.

Re: OER brand is total junk
I just received and installed a inside door handle that I ordered from Ricks/Ecklers Camaro.
Price was wright and shipping was reasonable.
Link to the handle = http://www.rickscamaros.com/camaro-i...1982-1992.html
The package has "OER Authorized" stamped on it.
I have to say that with out seeing exactly how long the handle will hold out...
It seems to be a really well built piece. Its heavy and spring is heavy duty and is exactly like the stock part its replacing.
Went in with no problem.
I like Ecklers Camaro.
It seems that all the parts I have bought from them are always very nice.

Re: OER brand is total junk
I had to use OER clamshells for bolting in a SBC 350 into my landlord's '81 Firebird 265, they worked fine, but they were rusty and dusty.

You guys got me scared on this thread. I just ordered R15 Firehawk wheels from Jeg's which are OER.

Re: OER brand is total junk
From what I have gotten OER:
Weatherstrip: Junk, returned for refund.
Dash Pad: Decent, doesn't totally lay down onto the dash, but is much better than the cracked one...
R15 Firehawk wheels: Awesome (but their white is cream next to Arctic White, had to paint)
91-92 Z28 Rocker Emblems: Perfect.
Coolant Tank: Ok, cap was tough to screw on.
Depending on what it is, it can be junk or good.

Re: OER brand is total junk
Fuel Tank: Filler neck welded at incorrect angle. Entire stock of tanks @ Classic were like this. Had to cut and re-weld it. They said they are working with OER to get it fixed for future tanks.

Re: OER brand is total junk
I have their radiator filler cover, kinda pricey ($50) even after a 10% discount.I figured they couldn't screw up a flat piece of plastic that bad.Its a 99% match to the OE piece. That said, I still wouldn't trust buying their more expensive stuff.

Re: OER brand is total junk
seems to be the case. only oer part i bought was the gta spoiler. not even close to the factory one. well maybe if i was drunk looking through a mug of beer. sent it back to classic ind. they are not car people...at least not any of the ones I talked to and all the pictures i sent them before they finally could see the huge difference. at least they refunded me.

Re: OER brand is total junk
Just returned my OER spoiler for my 88TA holes did not line up, pockets where the
old clips were used did not fit over the old stuff on the window. Found out that
the spoiler was not and OER but after market junk for $465
call my supplier and all his stock was bad.

Re: OER brand is total junk
We recently got some OER reproduction Formula wheels and they were pretty good.
Obviously OER outsources to various manufacturers. Whomever is doing their wheels is pretty good. Everything else, not so much.

Re: OER brand is total junk
I have an OER t-top headliner and it's about 100 times better than factory.
I've bought a ton of GM stuff over the years and a lot of it didn't fit right either.
Honestly, almost everything I buy doesn't fit right. I've got used to stuff just needing to be massaged or whatever to work.
