That's pretty funny. I'd imagine there's something a little goofy causing their system to calculate it as truck freight. Looks like it might have something to do with the "special order" nature. Might be drop shipping from the manufacturer or something goofy. It might be worth the phone call to find out why it's showing the $99 truck fee.

I agree about that being a miscalculation of some sort.
Unless Summit has gone "crazy".

I have ordered everything from full cat back exhaust systems to wheels and never been charged more than a $10.00 handling fee and/or a $10.00 oversize fee.

And they have never even charged me tax.

When I ran a search on Summit for P/N 47597, three parts were returned. Click in the "in stock" filter, the search results were reduced to a rear view mirror for 3/4 - 1 ton Fords.

Perhaps current stock status suggests that the shipping cost you see is truck freight from a Walker distributor.

All that is necessary is to "CALL" Summits Tech Line with questions or concerns then place the order at that time if you want.

The "Tech Reps" at Summit know there stuff and have been very helpful to me in the past.

Its always been my "go to" on line store for "other than stock" parts.

Your going to pay $100 no matter what even with the cheapest option at $99.98. Why not just get something else from summit that you could use that would make your shopping cart right around $100. That would get you the most for your money.

summit is selling it on ebay for 194.92 free shipping, id buy it from jegs, over the weekend i ordered from rockauto, after my order was broke up to different warehouses i paid 4 dollars for shipping on a 2 dollar gas cap.

This is strange to me as it would not come as truck freight. I cant remember if i ordered my walker i pipe from summit or rock auto. Usually i order everything from summit and it definately wasnt truck freight when i got it

Try Advance Auto parts. I've gotten Walker parts from them several times, price match and no shipping.

Neg on that. Since last summer, When I called Advance customer service to price match rock auto, they are now ADDING rock auto calculated shipping as well !!

Bought the Amp steps for my truck though summit and they're way bigger then that exhaust. Total shipping cost $0. However I also bought some other stuff and my total was a little north of $1800 though lol!

Thats when you get to know your new good friend at the commercial parts pro Counter, he has more control over prices due to the fact it's his job to keep commercial clients and shops happy.

I've ordered my full exhaust system through them and more and always just price matched the lowest I could find online. I ended up paying around 175$ for my magnaflow catback a couple years back, shipped to store. and quite a few things since.

Ya I tried that and .........

The town I live in for now only has O'reilly Auto and Autozone. Nearest pep boys is 15 miles away and nearest Advance auto is 10 miles away

Neither commercial account D-bag wanted to work with me !! After telling them i spend about $1000 a year on new parts for friends, Customers and family.

Can't wait to leave Oklahoma in a few months !!!!

So I just got off the phone with Summit about this and your totally right.
There is no getting around it.

It dose not matter if you add items to the order because it not Summit charging the freight.
Its the trucking co.

I went to Summit on line to see how much shipping was on a Cat Back. Its $99.00 to my door. ( part # 17234 is on sale for $398.67 )

Went to Jeg's Performance for the same Cat Back and shipping = FREE Standard Shipping to my door. (same part # 17234 is $442.97 )
