Re: TPIS Minirams are finally selling (cheap?) on ebay
Getting ready to post up mine. It is a Miniram II (closely matches a 1205 port), BBK 58mm throttle body, fuel rails, 30lb SVO injectors, new Aeromotive FPR, brackets, all new sensors (excpet the IAC...that is still the original), the custom chip from a 1990 speed density (This is Traxion's old setup).
I am looking for $1100 for everything. I also have the roller cam (Custom Joe O cam) that this system was tuned around if someone wants to make a package deal. Car went 11.60@117 with this setup and AFR 190 heads.

I might have copies of several of his BIN files...let me look on my computer at work on Monday. If I can find them, I would email them to you...free of charge. If you want the chip, we could work something out there too.

Re: TPIS Minirams are finally selling (cheap?) on ebay
I'm looking at this setup closely. I have a fully forged 383 with canfiled 215 heads and a procharger and really debating hard whether to do a "Blowthrough" or a system like this one for sale.
You guys are the gurus on this.
.A couple of concerns..
1).I'm guessing from the pics this is a Fast Classic. I read FAST does not work on them if there's a problem, but I'm hoping someone out there can. Also are the interfaces like datalogger still available...also the 2 bar map (I plan to run ~10-12lbs of boost)
2) Do you think this is a miniram or miniramII.. My 215 heads are 1206 gasket. so I'm a little concerned about port match up.
I've asked the guy for model numbers...but no response...
What do you guys think..
Here's the car I would put this in... I had listed it for sale a while back..so never mind the For sale part...

Is there such a thing as a Corvette lower? A g for the manifold only too, I paid that for a running HSR set up with two Commander 950's and a MSD Pro Billet w coil and a back up cap. I want one to be able to compare. Not for a 1000 samolians though.

A miniram at a good deal. $1k with a billet accel/lingenfelter throttle body, injectors, and rails.
This is the exact thing I was talking about in my op. There haven't been as many lately, but I think we will continue to see them and then they will end up in the hands of collectors/serious thirdgen guys and just dry up.

Re: TPIS Minirams are finally selling (cheap?) on ebay
Because anyone interested in paying $1000 for an intake like this should know that it is only port sized for a set of stock heads.
Not for a set of $1300 race heads.
Not for a set of $895 aluminum street performance heads.
Not even for a set of even Edelbrock performers.
But you definitely could always port match them if you get them cheap enough.
I noticed the seller was afraid to add our question/answer to the ebay ad as is customary.

Re: TPIS Minirams are finally selling (cheap?) on ebay
Now that there are 23 degree heads big enough to feed 427 SBCs (header and valvetrain fitment issues always turned me off of the exotic heads like SB2.2, 15,18*) I wonder if the Miniram would be up to the task?
I see in the beginning of this thread someone mentioned it was confirmed to handle 500rwhp, wonder if that could be pushed a bit. If not I wonder if there is a SBC EFI intake that IS up to it in something like a 4.125" x 4.00" 427 w/AFR 245s and a solid roller in the 25x/25x range with .700 to .750" lift?

Re: TPIS Minirams are finally selling (cheap?) on ebay
For the most part in more exotic or large sized engines it comes down to its usage. Are you going to build a big grunty mild 427 that will not rev high? Or are you going with an expensive piece and spin the wee out of it?
What about a power adder? Blower? Turbo? Nitrous?
How about engine packaging? Many guys with vettes run a miniram on all manner of engines due to the hoodline clearance. With us thirdgen guys we have affordable cowl hoods to give us more space.
With the increased space we might use to run a huge carb style manifold that has been modified, converted, and plumbed for port EFI. Sure a miniram is comparable to a few singleplanes, but not all of them.
What would you give up between a miniram and a say a brodix singleplane? A few hp, lets just call it anywhere from low single digit to mid double digit horsepower.
So in closing it always comes down to, what you are going to do with it, what you have considered in packaging, and which power adder if any you are planning.

Re: TPIS Minirams are finally selling (cheap?) on ebay
A solid roller cam in the range I was talking about would probably want to spin to 7000-7200, just wonder where the newer, bigger port 23 degree heads like to be. Nothing crazy RPM wise, just enough to hit 600-650 at the crank naturally aspirated and have enough street manners to drive occasionally. I would put in an "exotic" valvetrain though just for insurance. Titanium retainers, Jesels shaft mount rocker arms, belt drive, etc. I hate cowl hoods, just don't like the look even though I know they have their place on the track. The almost factory look/fit are plusses for the miniram in my book, I just always figured it would hold back a set of big heads.

I asked him if he knows what gasket size it is. Response pending.
I would like to mention to any of you actually considering buying one of these that if you think the price is too high, you should still watch it so that when it gets relisted over and over you can watch the price fall each time. Eventually you might like the price.

$1700 for a new miniram?
Wow. I wonder how much for a used miniram with powdercoat and polish that looks and works as good as new?
That said,
I kind of like my miniram. It looks really cool at the car shows.

Re: TPIS Minirams are finally selling (cheap?) on ebay
He responded, and 1256 was that gasket size. That is stock.
Yeah I think he is being unrealistic about his price considering the ones I have been seeing sold in the $675-$850 range.

Absolutely ridiculous. Good luck with that pipe dream. You could buy a new HSR or single plane with new injectors and throttle body for less. Even more ridiculous is that you could buy a used LS engine for less than what you are asking. The purpose of this thread is to educate others that mini rams are NOT worth that much and if you pay that you are wasting your money. Much better options for the same or less. And of course that is tunable.

The mini-ram is a joke. It's things like that, that make me want to put a carb on my new motor! Almost $900 for an aluminum casting, and almost $400 for fuel rails?! Eff that!

If you want to stay MPFI based, an HSR is much cheaper with very similar performance results. But, I'm holding out for a 1204 Miniram as I don't want to ditch my BMR 3 pt. STB. Patience, grasshopper!
