Hsr. Motor mod
I have thinking of modding my 92gta l98. The combo I am thinking is Hsr.intake a set of Afr. 195 heads. I have a 52mm BBK. Throttle body from my other car. I also have a 10" b&m holeshot 3600 stall converter also from my other car. I haven't picked a cam because I have only used carbs. In the past. I would like some input on a cam. I will turn it 6500 rpms. The car has a 323 posi. Would a low 12 sec quarter be possible. What else would I need. As far as idle I like the sound of a cam but want good power. My 89with a carb ran mid 12s with a solid roller 565 lift cam. I would like this one to do better. The last question is will I have any problems with the intake and heads ports sealing. I have heard Hsr sometimes doesn't seal without mods. Sorry for the long post I just want it to be right.

Re: Hsr. Motor mod
The hsr and hood will need to be modified to fit on a pontiac. I have a zz4 shortblock, lt4 hotcam with 1.6 rockers, trickflow 195 heads, tpis miniram, 52mm tb, hooker longtubes, mufflex y, 4" single exhaust, 12 bolt with 3.73's and a 3200 circle d stall. Car is full weight and then some (3755 with me) and will run mid 12's without a problem. About to put a 58mm tb on and fab up a 4" cold air setup. I really need to up the stall speed to a 3600. Car made 375 rwhp and 354 torque, pull was to 6200 rpm and was still climbing slightly. I kinda wish I had went a little larger on the cam. I also wish my compression higher. I am close to 10 to 1, wish it was closer to 11 to 1. I wanted a daily driver that can be driven anywhere, across country anywhere. There is no reason to run a solid lift cam for what you want to do. I would tell you to get a better converter than the b&m you got.
