Re: Common Camaro Colors, and not so common!
according to my sources, http://www.iroczone.com/specs/camaro/camaro84.html, their were only 8,194 brown camaros produced which makes it the rarest color. i have never seen one or even knew they existed until i found one on my local craigslist for sale. im am proud to say that i will be purchasing this beastly Z28 very shortly and will then post plenty of pics. it only has 82,000 original miles on it too and im getting it for $2000 go me! needless to say, if i ever get it repainted i will deff. be keeping this thing original.
Heres a pic from the listing!

Re: Common Camaro Colors, and not so common!
mostly i was just talking about out of 1984 camaros. i would suspect that there are rarer colors out their but i was just noting that dark brown is a nearly impossible color to find. im not sure but everthing ive read suggests that it was made for like 4 years, 86 only had 3,071 and in 87 only had about 1500 compared to the yellow which in 86 had 3,915 and in 87 had 3,052 so if your go per year, the number of dark brown camaros vs. yellow ones is less. but if your counting all years then yellow is the rarer color. any thing rarer than thats is probably not going to be found anymore. i would like to know the number of cars that had rare colors only to be painted over in something else. on the other hand maybe i dont. i may get very !

Mine is silver. I don't know if silver trans am's are rare or not, but unless a previous owner went through the trouble to paint under the carpet and inside the door's the same silver as the exterior, then it's a true silver car.

my color WA-L9540 is only made for 3 years 90 to 92.
http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcod...aro&sname=Dark Red&name=camaro1991WA9540&scomm=
I have only seen 1 other like it.
I like the fact the the color changes depending what angle and light us on the car.
ATM the car is now in the shop fora total repaint in the same color, but with the stripes painted in 86 sebring silver striping and "91 black" eyelids
I like to keep the colors this way that the base color always stays the same,( white car stays the same white, red car stays the same red), but if I ad an extra color, it will always be a color that was on the car available.

Re: Common Camaro Colors, and not so common!
I didnt read the whole thread but this color code of maui blue is somewhat rare.
1989-1991 rs only cars were this specific rpo code. (23U) 91 "light blue metalic" But honestly Id like to find a link to see what the production numbers are??? Any help on that?
On this car it IS the original paint, which is in pretty good shape. It will never be painted another color as Ive only seen 2 other camaros this exact color in person. There are other varients of maui blue but they are not the same code, let alone the same shade.
I love it to be honest.

Car: 1984 camaro berlinetta
Engine: v8
Transmission: 700r4
Re: Common Camaro Colors, and not so common!
my 84 berlinetta used to be silver. the moron owner before me painted over top the original paint with a crappy dark blue. so it needs paint I was thinking either the original silver or a better blue, I also found some neon green paint that would look prity sharp if I do it right.
as far as rare colors I haven't heard of very many all gold thirdgens but have seen one in person in rural Indiana and a few online they were berlinettas I don't know if they offered it on other Camaro submodels or not. I just haven't seen one

I assume this color/combination with 17,xxx miles first year IROC is pretty rare. I posted it but no one responded. People would here since they seem to realize cars like this do not show up and it is for sale!

Re: Common Camaro Colors, and not so common!
You know what some of the idiots did with them? One 350 91 Formula owner turned his in to be seized up and crushed under cash for clunkers. Search Youtube for the video. (I'd love to be there the day the dope realizes these are collector cars.) A lot of the others were owned by rednecks and driven into the ground, or considered "worthless" 80's cars and sold to auto yards. Which is good and bad news for us - they made parts hard to come by, but at the same time making 3rd gens a lot more rare than 2nd and 4th gens . We should someday see values climb like 2nd gens.
