restoring faded paint-need info on which products to buy
i cant decide on what steps i need to take to bring back the shine. the paint has been base/cleared, pearl white. clearcoat is intact but really dull, no flaking off just dull. ive been reading alot on this and everyone has their own preferance. been looking at the meguires products and seems like the ultimate compound is a 1 step process before sealing and waxing. is it supposed to replace all the glazing steps? i already have the ultimate compound, if i use that to bring back the shine and maybe a super fine polish and finish off with the synthetic sealer, would that be a good way to go? i have a Porter-cable DA polisher with all the pads.
thanks

As long as the clear coat is not failing you should be able to bring back a shine.
I tried the Meguiar's ultimate and did not like it. I used it with a Flex forced rotation DA and under high speeds while working the paint it would get gummy and break down
If you want good products, use the Meguiar's professional line. You can't go wrong with Meguiar's 105 and 205. You start with 105 to cut the paint and 205 is the polish. After that a wax will seal the paint. I am sure you can follow it with other glazes and products, but those 2 products are going to give you the correction you need.

I agree can't go wrong with Mequiars. The NXT wax is the only wax I use.At the shop we had Frecla G3 compound and it's a great product.

For polish I like Presta Glaze

And Wizards products are great but tend to be pricey.Love their shine master though..

Really if your paint isnt that bad you could try just polishing with a foam pad or try compound with a light cut pad first. Hope this helps!
