I will always miss my 3rd gen!!

Figured I'd stir things up a little in here. I sold mine back in 2008 and still miss it to this day!! Nothing compares to the long hood and low roofline of a 3rd gen!

Shame on you!
That is sweet!

Had mine 27 years, can't let it go.

Re: I will always miss my 3rd gen!!

Yeah, I had to sell it for money to go back to school. In the end it was a good decision because it damn near doubled my income...and I still have the option of buying one again! I think I'd like a nice little project 91-92 Formula this time. With Ronal wheels, maybe a 4th gen T/A wing, LS swap of some kind and T56

I sold mine in 1989, last year I went looking for it, found it & bought it back.

It was definitely nice. Hard for me to let mine go over the years.

Re: I will always miss my 3rd gen!!

Thanks for the comments! I was always surprised at how well the paint held up on the car. It's rare to find 3rd gens in good condition besides the ones on here. A lot of people don't take care of them

Re: I will always miss my 3rd gen!!

I sold my first one in 1990 and got busy with family and work and just didn't get around to replacing it until three months ago after 25 years. I'm so glad that these cars can still be found in showroom new condition. But don't wait too long as the really nice ones are becoming harder to find.

I'd love to have my first one back. I often wonder if it's still around. Should have run the VIN when I had CARFAX for the T/A. But I was so focused on the Firebird, that I forgot to do it.

Thanks!! Yeah the paint was in fairly good shape for a 80k mile car. It had its fair share of rock chips and stuff, but it always turned heads. I think that was mostly because clean third gens are quite rare!

They can be found in showroom condition, but its very hard! Most I'm looking at for project cars would just get a repaint. You can save a lot of money getting one with crummy paint and then repaint it and make it perfect.

Re: I will always miss my 3rd gen!!

I haven't been on too many boards lately. I've been trying to cut back on many things that took time that you can't get back! I even just cancelled Dish Network. Now I should have some time to play. I've also been researching other cars that my wife now wants. A Challenger Scat Pack. Talk about fully rounded. A Camaro guy that owns a Mustang and Challenger. I'm just falling apart!

Scott...there's nothing wrong with 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque!
