So as of this post, there are 98 votes by 1583 page views! Why don't more people vote?
Thanks for all of the comments guys. My car was once labeled as a low mile pristine example. There were few cars on TGO that had the miles my car had. Since then, my car is just a clean car. I have 20k miles now and there are many deserving cars just as clean as mine and also with lower miles.
I recently told Charlie that he did more to his yellow IROC-Z when he got it than I did to mine. He took the taillights out and cleaned behind there. I don't think I have ever done that. Let's give everybody a chance to be a winner!
I like the idea of getting these original, clean cars together. Wouldn't that be a display to behold?

99 now. Which tells me there are only 99 members out there that appreciate very nice 3rd gens.
That's sad.

Re: August 2015 COTM **Voting**
I'll tell you what these COTMs do for me.... It allows me to take a closer look at cars I'm not familiar with. Every month, I discover a member's primo car, which I have either not seen before or not spent the time to look at closely enough.
It'd be nice if we could all get together some time and park these cars in a row. Maybe next year's, ThirdGen Expo?
Anyway, why aren't more people voting for Kurt's B4C? His car is awesome and is one I've nominated for COTM in the past.

It would be a lot fun to all get together, too bad we're all so far apart. Lucky for me there's quite a few 3rd gen owners in my area that I get to hang with on a regular basis. They seem to be popular around here. Yes its a lot of fun, if anyone is in the tri state area Phila, NJ or DE. feel free to contact me regarding this.

As for the low vote turnout, I think its just dependent on what sections you browse the most. I usually only look at 4 or 5 of them on a regular basis. Maybe some members never frequent "Auto Detailing and Appearance", so they dont know about COTM (or dont care). There are a few I've never even browsed, the forum is extremely large and if you have limited time, you go to your favorites or of interest. Just my 2 cents.

I plan on going. I will look for you and your car. I'm not sure if I'm bringing any of my cars yet. It's always the weather with me. Even if I'm carless, I still have a great time looking at them all and meeting people!

100% agreed. that happened last time too. his car received very few votes, while having so many of the attributes that so many state to look for, such as: its a base model (sort of): its not an IROC, GTA, TA, or Formula even (although it almost seems like a Camaro equivalent of a Formula). plus its stock and super clean, not to mention pretty rare. i like his car a lot and am surprised by the lack of love it gets in these.

Re: August 2015 COTM **Voting**
as far as reaching out too new voters, preliminary studies (my quick gorilla math) show that when JT posted a **Voting Thread** link to the home page, the result was a 25% increase in voter participation. so it seems like that was a good idea, and should maybe become a permanent feature.
as for my part, in the past, i have posted links and COTM Awareness threads in the more popular Forums, but i am not sure if that yielded any results. although i will tell you that the last time i solicited the Power Adder Forum for pics of potential nominees for an All Power Adder program, that thread spun out of control pretty quickly when someone indicated that they believed that thread to be the COTM Choosing Thread. when i tried to explain that ["i just needed pictures of nice power added vehicles"] for a later COTM, another member concluded that i was booing over the fact that he posted a video of a car (as in not just a picture like i was asking). the video was fine and dandy with me, but no matter how many times i talked in circles trying to explain that, i couldn't not be the a**hole in that scenario, and ended up somehow, at best, confusing everyone...

Getting the word out about COTM isn't really needed unless you want everyone that visits TGO to stop by. We've had 2140 visits to the voting thread and only 108 votes. That's pathetic by the members of TGO.

Re: August 2015 COTM **Voting**
i see it from a slightly different perspective. spreading awareness and increasing participation (in NOMINATING is just as important as in voting, btw) is really about keeping the selected cars and build types fresh and varied. more members nominating means the introduction of more great cars (of various builds) that have yet to be discovered. more members casting votes means greater chance of people winning based on the merits of their car, rather than because everyone knows who they are, or that the recurring pool of voters likes a particular type of car or type of build.

Re: August 2015 COTM **Voting**
The votes against the visits to the thread is not a good indicator because the visits include subsequent visits by the same member (perhaps members checking the vote count on their own car or the car they voted for) as well as Guests browsing and "spiders". So the ratio can get wide easily and quickly. I don't think it would be good, and it's not realistic, to force votes because then you get quantity over quality when someone just picks any selection without any real consideration into it. I wouldn't want to win because I got lucky with the numbers with people being "forced" to vote without any meaningful consideration between the cars.
That's not say we won't continue to post about the process or voting to help keep it going but I personally don't quite understand or agree with view of needing the most votes as possible. This has been about showcasing the best ThirdGens in the community and I think it has done that.

Thanks for the nomination and congrats to Chazman!

i will NEVER understand the lack of love your car has gotten in the two COTM contests that i've seen it in. its one of my favorite cars on this board.
