Wow guys - guess I haven't been paying much attention and I didn't even realize that the car was nominated until Linson dropped me a private message. I am flattered, although I do have to tell you that I won once before. I will post some pics up and let you guys pick the winner, but in all honesty, I really would like the votes to go to someone who has not won before!

Hello TGO, Thank you ev305tpi and other members for nominating my 1984 H.O. Z-28. I purchased this car in 2012 from the original owner with only 11,400 original miles. Car was all original down to the Eagle GT tires. It is a great car and I enjoy driving it on nice sunny days. I grew up around 3rd gens as my older brother had purchased a brand new IROC in 1986. Since purchaseing I have made many modifications as my plans were to build a clean street strip car that I could bracket race and enjoy with my family. Car is now sporting a 383 with a Dana 44 and a power glide trans. Curent ET to date is 11.01 @ 124.55 through Dyno Don headers and Hooker cat back. Car exterior & interior has been untouched except wheels & tires so car looks like it was off the showroom floor. I have saved every nut & bolt if I decide to return to stock. I hope you enjoy and thank you for looking. God Blesss!!

Many thanks to everyone for the nominations as well as all of the other outstanding cars on this page. I'll try to make this quick, I've always been a fan of third gens ever since they came out. Its one of the reasons why I have an early version. I've have this one for 3 years and have done lots of things to improve it but to keep it as original as possible. The car itself is a 1984 Camaro Z28 with the L69 option 5.0. H.O. automatic with a 373 posi rear. Other options include power seat, PDL, PW, P-hatch, t-tops, console clock and custom cloth. Full tune up, BFG tires, carb rebuild, front and rear suspension work, struts, strut bearings, shocks, springs, rear control arms, pan-hard bar, both sway bars. wonder bar all from Spohn Performance, full A/C upgrade, headliner, sail panels, visors, complete brake system including all hardware and lines, every piece of weatherstripping, magnaflow cat-back, window & lock motors, alternator, battery, all fluids and so much more.

Thank you guys for the nomination!
Just a brief story behind my car. It was my first car. I bought it when I was 16 in 1989 and have owned it for 27 years.
She is a 1982 Trans Am Recaro edition.
After getting married and buying a house, she sat for many years as my priorities did not allow much time to work on her.
This is how she looked prior to restoration.
The paint was thin, even though she was a 10 footer. It had been buffed with a machine by a prior owner who knew nothing about buffing a car. I also had paint work done on it when I was young, and overall, I was not happy with its appearance. The interior had cracked and faded panels that needed addressing. It needed a good detail under the hood, although it ran well. So I decided to do a mild resto. Initially, I had no plans to touch anything mechanical, but we know how that goes.

The finished product - the interior got a new headliner - on the old backer board - I hate those ill fitting repops, and new carpet. The seats were in good shape. I had to replace every interior panel due to dry rot. Special thanks to John in RI and RCAR7395 for finding me most of them.
