May 2016 COTM **Nomination Thread**
This thread is for May 2016 COTM **Nominations** PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE COTM NOMINATION RULES BEFORE PROCEEDING TO NOMINATE A MEMBER’S RIDE FOR COTM.
REMEMBER, WE MUST PROTECT THE INTEGRITY OF THE CONTEST SO THAT THE MOST DESERVING MEMBER WINS.
This thread is a Nomination Thread to nominate cars that will compete for this month's Car of the Month honor. The 10 (or less) most popularly nominated cars will be compiled into a *Voting Thread* in a couple of weeks. If you do not nominate a member's car for COTM, you can still second or third (fourth, fifth, so on) someone else's nomination. Cars must have at least a second nomination in order to make the Voting Thread.
Base Models
Any stock or modified 1982-1992 Base Model Camaro or Firebird.
No Z28/IROCs, Trans Ams, or Formulas. Pretty much anything else goes.

- Do not nominate your own car. Your car must be nominated by another TGO Member.
- Do not ask your wife, husband, friends, extended family, etc. to register as TGO Members for the purpose of nominating your car.
- Do not nominate more than one car.
- Do not use multiple member accounts to nominate your own car or to nominate multiple cars.
- This is not a picture thread. Post only one (1) good photo of the car you wish to nominate. Do not use a photo-edited picture.
- You must post a picture with your nomination. This must be a full-sized picture (or at the very least, a pic or thumb that enlarges into a full-sized picture when you click on it).
- Correctly identify the user name of the member who you nominate.
- Correctly identify the year and model/trim of the car you nominate.
- Do not nominate cars that are not in a high quality, finished state.
- And if you are nominated, please DO go out and take an abundance of good quality photos of your ride (multiple angles, interior, engine) and make them publicly accessible (for example via a photo album in your public profile or some sort of hyperlink to your photo album.)

Re: May 2016 COTM **Nomination Thread**
oh wow, thank you for nominating me!
I've had my 84 for over 20 years now, it was the first car I ever bought.
It started out as a 84 SC V6, drove the car every day for many years to work.
When V6 in it died, and I debated on scrapping it or restoring it. I just couldn't scrap it, so the restoration started about 7 years ago.
My goal was to make it better than it was when it was new. So the 2.8 was out, and a 5.7 was in. I also added all the GFX, all new interior basically it's a all new car inside and out.
I've also done some fun stuff with the car, all new audio system including a double din, custom fiberglass box, and kickpods. I've also converted all the front and rear marker lights with custom LEDs (1000's of LEDs soldered into place). Then I also improved the headlights with bi-xenon HIDs.
The car is now a summer only car, and is a lot of fun to drive.
Stuff to still do, when these tires wear out. Still want to get new tires and wheels.
Want to get the seats redone in leather too.
Here is a link to my album with a bunch of pics

No problem.. I saw this month was base models and your transformation of a blue 84 SC to what looks more like a 91 Z28 is impressive. I really like the sound system.. I gotta do something about the sound in my IROC.. Going from the 10 speaker Bose in my Tahoe LTZ to the factory IROC speakers is tough.. Ha ha

Hilarious! Now this right here is a classic example of an unrestored beat to hell car that can TAKE the abuse! Its also a good representation of the look on my face if my wife would have done this kind of damage to it...lol

If it is originally a Z28, then DonW is correct - it does not qualify.
*edit*
just confirmed it. it started its life as a 1985 Z28.
but chazman, you are still able to pick another nominee.

Re: May 2016 COTM **Nomination Thread**
I've always thought that those C5 "wagon" wheels looked good on a thirdgen. Another member altered the wheel nut cover- basically he ground off the area over the wheel nuts so they are exposed. Looks nice and it only takes 5 mins per wheel.

Thank you! My dad and I painted it in our garage two year ago, but it turned out pretty bad. So we paid a friend's dad to repaint it again (after I did the bodywork again) and it turned out just as bad. At least it looks good in pictures!
