August 2016 COTM **WINNER**
Here we have it. Our *EDIT* Second ever two-time COTM Winner. Congratulations, Brandon, aka BADNBLK, on this achievement, and also on your achievements in Third Gen engineering, having built a world class Pro-Touring Third Gen Camaro.
I always thought I'd have mixed feelings about a single car winning COTM for a second time, but in this case, there are no mixed feelings because this is essentially not the same car that won a couple years ago.
Brandon's creation is a credit to the Third Gen platform.
My car is 1991 Z28 that started life a 305 TPI, and just recently (2 weeks) finished up a modded LS1 swap into my car. I spared little expense when putting it together.
Engine: 5.7L LS1 with freshly rebuilt, Advance Inductions 243 CNC ported head package with BTR 650 lift springs and TI retainers. Trunion upgraded stock rockers, LS7 lifters, AI 229/233 650 lift cam, LS2 chains, Melling oil pump. Shaved/Ported LS6 intake with 85MM throttle body, 42lb injectors on Holley Performace billet rails. Topped off with Pro-form tall valve covers.
Exhaust: Hooker Blackheart 1 7/8" long tube headers I had Cera-coated in their high temp satin black. Hooker Blackheart true dual over axle stainless exhaust sytem - TOP NOTCH!!!
Transmission: T56 with LS7 clutch assembly, Tick Master cylinder, and Hurst Billet shifter. Ring Brothers Clutch fluid reservoir
Rear End: Narrowed Moser 9" ford housing, Strange center section with Hoosier posi set up. Moser 31 spline axles. Added tow hooks and LCARBS. All powdercoated gloss black
Suspension: Ground Control weight jack set up, Koni Adjust shocks/struts. Spohn Billet strut mounts, Baer tracker bump steer kit, Spohn LCA, PBH, Wonderbar, SFC's, and Founders torque arm kit.
Brakes: Baer Polished 6S mono-block calipers w/ 14" two piece rotors front, and Polished Baer 13" rear brake kit. Wilwood master cylinder, and Baer adjustable proportioning valve.
Wheels/Tires: Forgeline FF3 Heritage series 3piece wheels in 18x10F and 18x11R wearing BFG KDW2 275/35F and 295/35R
Body/Exterior: Gloss black paint with Bright Aqua Metallic heritage stripes and side accents. Shaved nose emblem. Custom billet emblems, Custom front turnsignal delete, Functional Brake cooling ducts from t/s housing. Carbon fiber front grill (real), Carbon vinyl wrapped t-tops, 15% window tint. Underhood is fully shaved from struts caps, battery trays, bottle mounts, firewall including drivers side, core support is shaved and radiused to match radiator cap opening, filler panels on fender openings, washer and coolant resivoirs relocated under battery tray area with flush pop up caps,
Interior: ACC carpet, Sparco Sprint racing seats, Shutt tuning steering wheel, Mr.Mikes custom leather rear seats and door panels. MBA Billet pedals and shift ****. Autometer Tachometer. Pioneer Premire headunit. JBL amps for mids/highs, and JLB 1000K amp for the JL audio 12" subwoofers. Infinity Kappa series 4x6 & 6x9s for remaining speakers. Full dynomat treatment front to rear. Relocated battery to trunk, with jumper post through body.

EXCELLENT DETAIL on the build!
This win was well deserved, even if was the second win and a total crusher!
Congratulations!
TGO keeping it real... Looking forward to next month!

Congrats. Im usually not a huge fan of "LS" swaps or highly modded cars but this months winner was just an insane build! The engine was so nicely done it looks like it came in the car. I really liked it and to win in the fashion it did in the field it was in says a lot! Lot of hard work went into to it you can tell

Re: August 2016 COTM **WINNER**
I've came back over here like two different times in between work stuff, and I can't quite seem to find a way to type out what I'm really feeling or at least completely.
THANK YOU!!!!! That is foremost the most important thing to say. The COTM program has always been such an honor to win, as its the only place your car can soley be judged by a panel of your peers, people that know these cars as good as I do, or better. People that share the same passion I have or more. It means a lot to have this happen only days after I even had this project "completed". I've been dreaming and planning on this build, and I have it, and I'm beyond happy with the end result and the positive feedback from the third gen community and beyond....
Speaking of beyond... I have more to share, but can't right the moment Can't wait to share. Stay tuned, and again thank you!

Congrats on the win Brandon! What a transformation that 91 Z has received!!!! I don't want to step on any toes here though, but if I'm not mistaken, mw66nova aka Matt Walter, has won COTM twice with his car... correct me if I'm wrong...

Sorry, but I'm only seeing a COTM win for mw66nova in May, 2012. What am I not seeing?

I just messaged him, I'm pretty sure that list isn't complete. Not to take away from Brandon's win which is awesome, I just wanted to clear the record, heck even he remembers Matt winning twice.

Re: August 2016 COTM **WINNER**
so, about missing mw66nova's October 2013 COTM win...
1. sorry about that. i certainly haven't gotten the impression that mw66nova or anyone else has gotten their panties in a twist about it, but still. i regret broadcasting a false narrative regarding BADNBLK's win this month. in the end, my **** ups are small potatoes next to the awesomeness of elite Third Gen F-Bodies.
2. using this site's internal search, i am still unable to find anything on October 2013 COTM. there are gaps in the 2013 list. i assumed that those gaps were due to there not being COTM contests for those months. using a Google search i was eventually able to find the 2013 COTM threads - and even that wasn't exactly easy, but i did find it.
so this is mw66nova's 1990 Camaro RS (Sport Coupe Clone), the 1st and original Two-Time COTM Winner. (May 2012 & October 2013).

There seems to be confusion about the Oct 2013 cotm, so here is that thread
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/auto...tm-winner.html
Yup, 1990 RS by the VIN, 85 sport coupe clone, lol. There have been several build threads on here. Just search my name. Been a member since 2001 so it'll probably turn up a lot lol. And no hard feelings at all, just wanted to set things straight more or less.

Two outstanding guys, with down right amazing cars, that are well deserving of the two-time COTM titles!!! I still can't get over how amazing the transformation is of Brandon's car. I followed his build thread through the whole thing, and I'm still in shock. That is such a well built and clean looking motor and engine bay, let alone the suspension work.... dang.... Hold your head up high brother, you deserve it!

I can tell you that I am beyond happy with the end result. I have some more carbon fiber work I need to finish up and detail type touches, and I'll make sure I share them here and my build thread for all to follow. Thank you so much for the kind words. I'm truly truly honored to be in the ranks of the King Mu**et himself, he has through the years become a friend and trusted advisor, and sometime wish this country was just a lil bit smaller so we could all get together and oogle each others rides in person!

Congratulations! You definitely have earned it. Not only have you worked hard and produced a beautiful car, mechanically and aesthetically, you also give back to the community with your experiences and knowledge.
I can only hope that someday my car is half as beautiful as yours.

Re: August 2016 COTM **WINNER**
They changed the classes on me, and now the 82-92 cars are grouped all into on class instead of STOCK, STREET, MODIFIED.... And I still won! There was a 2200 mile muesem preserved 87 IROC in competition, so I was thrilled!!!
Had decent light after the show to show the nice shine I put on the paint...
One of the guys I was showing with all the way from Nebraska for the event. Nice car too! Might be a member here, can't remember...

Curious. What are your fenders heights? I haven't gone back to read up (again for the 4th time...!). Do you have weight jacks...or anything to adjust ride height? The wheel/tire combination and stance suit the 3rd gen perfectly. (Is it tubbed?)
