Thirty odd years and KITT is still marketable !

Here's some interesting third gen history ! The LEGO company has a new product out , and boy was I surprised to see what it was . I opened this Email just this morning and to be honest I didn't think anybody much under 40 would ever remember what K.I.T.T. was , much less want to pay for it , but there it is in all it's glory , our beloved (or love to hate , depending on your view) K.I.T.T. presented as a LEGO toy .

Good try LEGO... not.
I'm a big fan of LEGOs but the only thing in common between the original KITT & the LEGO version is they're both black. There's no semblance of a Trans Am here.

In the good ole days, you used Legos to make something really cool. Nowadays Lego just takes something really cool, and makes it look like legos.

I agree 100% that the likeness of both the car and the Hoff are terrible , I just am amazed that 30 years later anyone young enough to be playing with LEGOs would have any idea what "Knight Rider" was . I wonder if this will be a hit or miss with a generation that grew up expecting all crime fighting vehicles to turn into huge robots ? I gotta admit I wasn't a fan of the show when it was on TV , I saw it as being kinda sappy , but to think that all these years later K.I.T.T. based products are still marketable means a whole lot of folks must have liked it enough for it to be still generating sales of toys like this .

My kids bought it today. When my wife came home from the store my son told me, "Hey dad, we got your car as a Lego." He had no idea what Knight Rider was. He was just really excited that he found what he thought was my car in Lego form.
