trim peices on fender

I jave a couple of fenders I'm sanding on and was curios how the trim moulding is fastened on. Is it glued, I can't seem to find any nuts where it might be bolted.
Thanks Scoty

The later style ones are held on with double sided tape.

Well it's not like double sided scotch tape or anything. It's strong stuff. And you can peal it off, but you will be left with the tape still there, you'll have to get that off somehow. Also if your car has ever had a repaint it's most likely that those peices weren't removed and the paint under it will be lower and it won't look too good.

I'm a little surprised that no one has mentioned the rubber erase wheel. Hook it up to a drill and there you have it. I'd rather use that than some sort of chemical. (I'm really scared of messing up my paint)

For stickers I use a heat gun and 3m adhesive remover. And now that i think about the door moldings more, my 89 was held on my double sided tape and my 87 had a very gooey glue type of thing holding them on, i used adhesive remover to get that off once the molding was off.

for my puposes I need the moulding removed to sand and paint the fenders, so I'm not that concerned about the paint
