Gasket/seal for spoiler pedestals???
I noticed the 91/92 Trans Am aero wing had black foam attached to the under sides of the wing where it touches the black metal trim from the hatch behind the hooks. Anyone know what a good 3M version of this foam tape might be so I can buy a roll?
Anyway, back to my original question, in testing fitting my aero wing, I notice that the bottoms of the pedestals are flat and not slightly curved like the actual hatch surface is. I don't want to over tighten it down to compensate then strip the metal thread bungs right out of the old brittle plastic, so...... what would be an ideal material to use to fabricate thin (possibly slightly compressible so one side shapes to the curves hatch surface?) gaskets/seals to go between the mounting pedestals and the hatch surface? Of course black is preferred. I was thinking making a template and cutting to shape a flat piece of rubber similar to bicycle inner-tube if I can find something like that large enough.....
Any thoughts?

I used this rubber sheet for my T Top Bar with 3M Weatherstripping glue. The body shop used something similar on my Wraparound Spoiler.

You can get that with the adhesive also.

Re: Gasket/seal for spoiler pedestals???
I just received 4 12"x12" 1/16" thick rubber sheets from them. These are going to be perfect! I bought 4 so I'd have extra in case I screw up cutting them from my pattern I'm going to make. The trick will be gluing them to the bottom of the pedestals so they stay on and lined up with the bolt holes while I slide it to fit into the hooks on the side of the hatch glass.
Thanks again!
I also found the perfect adhesive backed weatherstrip at O'Reilly's for the sides of the aero wing. It's the exact width as the original stuff and just the right thickness I think.
