Hood pop up spring for my new Fiberglass hood

Hey guys I recently got a new fiberglass hood from HawksThird Gen
Pictures!

But now I am wondering... does anyone know what I can use for the hood pop up spring? The stock one was meant for a steel hood so it might have too much tension. is there somewhere I can get a lower tension hood spring for it?

I used my spring. Works fine. I do have a Camaro and the hood is a 4" outlaw fiberglass. If its too long, cut it and bend the last few inches as it was before you cut it.. May need a vice, vice grips, propane torch if you really want.

Or will it completely not work?? Pics!

I could try that. Also the fiberglass hood doesn't have the tabs like the original steel hood did. Just a threaded hole in the center. Will probably need to make some kind of bracket to hold it against the hood.

Here is what I did. I got a hood spring from another GM sedan that seemed a little weaker than the F-body hood spring. I also got the mount from the hood, trimmed it and mounted it to the underside of the glass hood.

Hey that's a great idea! But did you have to cut out the part with the tabs? Or was it removable? I know the one on my old steel hood was part of the hood as in the tabs being bent to form. Was the one you got able to be taken out?

I recall unbolting it from the donor car.
