Spider cracks
Hi
Anybody know if this can be sorted without respraying the whole front valance ? looks like cracking in the clear coat, as the car was resprayed about 3 years ago and had several coats of clear. was fine for about 2 years only noticed it this year.

Re: Spider cracks
Should of painted those plastic pieces seperately with the flex
additive added to the paint.

Re: Spider cracks
Chances are that those were there before and were not fixed before paint. The only way to fix is to sand all the way through till you dont see them. You will prob have to go into the plastic when sanding. If you dont, this will happen again. FYI, there are some plastic jedis out there that can fix it too. most body shops have a guy they know. Last I checked it was around 200 to have it fixed... but the bumper was in bad bad shape.. and thats not with paint...

Re: Spider cracks
no way around it, going to need a respray, hopefully the "cracks" are not into the plastic because those will need to be sanded out completely before repaint. Todays paints technology and water base paint really don't need flex additive.
