Is it possible to fix loose driver's side mirror
the stupid thing is absolutely useless. It just flops around or will be tilted downwards. It is a manual/cable adjusted one. Based on other guys' experience,I've seen them being told the cables are stretched. Is this the case? The bracket for the mirror is nice and tight. It's just the glass doesn't stay in the place I put it in. Is it possible to just fix this issue rather than getting something new? I've searched to the ends of the earth and I can't find any cables or mirror assemblies online.

I part out third gens and have a few manual cable driver side mirrors. I will check and make sure I have a tight one for you if interested. $35 + shipping.

I found a used one on eBay. just needed the spring retainer part. To replace the broken one.
Maybe that's all you need too. The part is in the control in side the door.this worked for me.l didn't have to replace any thing else.

Re: Is it possible to fix loose driver's side mirror
I bought a assembly. which is , outer housing with mirror, cable, and manual control unit.
The part I needed was in the control unit. Like $35 for a little piece, and though the rest in in the thrash.
There are at least two different manual mirror cable assembles, The control seems to be the same.
Good luck, Please report your experience.
