Door rust repair help!

I have little experience with bodywork, and can't afford to pay people to fix this for me. Under and around the crimped metal of the door, some kind of rubber/caulk seal lines it. On my driver's side door, it is cracking and rust is coming out from it. Has anybody dealt with this, or can give valid tips on how to remove the seal and reseal it? It is pretty tough, and I would like to know what I could use to seal it back once I solve the rust issue. On the last two images, it shows what how it should look on my passenger door. Thanks for reading!

Re: Door rust repair help!

3m makes a fiber disc that is purple and that strips seam sealer pretty well. Once you get the sealer off you can sandblast it and then etch prime it, seam seal it and paint it again.

What can I use to seal it, and do you have any more information on the 3m part? Another thing. I don't have sandblaster, so I guess I would just sand it down and use a dremel to get it down to bare metal. Thanks for the reply

I use the harbor freight one. I put a dryer ball on it so I don't push moisture through and gum up the sand. It works really really well especially for the Price
