HELP!!! Installing Hawks body side moldings

Hello I'm painting one of my 87 Irocs in a few days. I removed the old thin moldings and ordered the wider set of door moldings that install horizontally on the door and front fenders. I'm not sure how to cut these so they look good and how to get the right angle on the area where the door and front fender meet. has anyone done this? I just don't want to ruin $100 moldings and make the car look wrong and throw them away. Thanks Chris

$100 set of moldings isn't pre-cut and ready to apply?

Re: HELP!!! Installing Hawks body side moldings

I had to cut them carefully to make them as perfect as I could. I used a used set as a guide for measurements and cut angles. I looked at a few pics of mounting points to get the spacing right. we'll see.

Re: HELP!!! Installing Hawks body side moldings

Put the points on first - leaving room on the fender for the door opening and swinging. Use 3M double sided tape - don't cheap out. Then, stretch masking tape along the line between the points as a guide. Put the long piece on the door, then use a heat gun to secure them all.
There are no metrics that I know of. Look at other cars, use your best judgment, and keep it straight.
