Using an Ats caliper rather then ls1
Anyone looked into this yet being there are a lot of these cars running around with brembo brakes vrs the older ctsv. Looking at my car the rotor is a little larger then the ls1 but if wouldn't fit under the stock rim could always use the ls1 rotor and Ats brembo caliper as an option if the caliper is similar to the new camaro or ctsv 4 piston. I compared part numbers and of course they are not the same GM wouldn't ever do that even if was the same part so now it is chasing down dimensions of it. Think the bolt pattern is the same it is finding out about the offset. I can measure the ones on my car if someone can let me know what the dimensions of the ctsv are or new camaro as I have read they work too. Or better yet someone that has already done this caliper and let me know if works the same. Finding these cheaper then any others so far.

anyone that is using a early ctsv caliper and has dimentions on hand if could post it up i am pulling my caliper off my ats today to get all measurements and also see if my 16 inch factory web wheel will fit on the ats with the brake on it as is so will know if can use that combo as a whole if can adapt to the 92 spindle.

I`ve done a set-up with those calipers, I used the C7 base rotors and the 1LE hubs. The calipers are actually closer to the C7 base calipers than the CTS-V`s btw.

Re: Using an Ats caliper rather then ls1
Do you recommend those or go ctsv for ease of install? I was hoping to keep my factory 16 inch formula web wheels but that damn lip almost seems to bring it down like a 15 inch rim. I tried to put my 16 inch on my caddy Ats and the offset of the caliper is weird it goes more out then in so hit on the inner lip. Had it either not had the lip or caliper went inward more then would have cleared with the 14 inch Ats rotor. Maybe that's the difference in this one to ctsv? If I were to run this one I would have to go to the hawk 17 inch formula wheel if wanting to keep that look. But if there is a combo that will fit my factory 16 inch wheel rather do that if you know of one. Thanks For any help u have to offer this is the last part of my setup I am deciding on.

I prefer the CTSV set up because it uses a std hub (less track by .375 per side) But those will not fit into a 16 or even a 17. Now with the ATS set up I did, it has more track with the 1LE hub and the caliper offset /contour is so great there is no way a stock 3rd gen rim would fit and still sit inside the wheel well. The ATS set-up just may fit into the 16 inch wheel radially (it would be close, real close) I know it will fit a 17 with room to spare but not with a 4.5 backspace, you would need more along the line of a 4th gen wheel of 7 inch backspace and a 2 inch pacer to get the wheel spokes off the caliper face. The rotor dia is 12.6 btw.

Re: Using an Ats caliper rather then ls1
Was just looking over any kind of 4 piston caliper out there that is cheap. The Toyota Tundra has a very plain but cheap caliper. Seen for 80 bucks each for nice remans with hardware. Anyone look into the size since so cheap. I may buy one just to play with it and if can't fit car will try on my 07 Tahoe.

I just made a post about my ATS caliper setup here: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/brak...s-c7-base.html
The picture BBU.com posted earlier is actually my caliper when he had it mocking up everything.
