Wilwood Vs. Flynbye

Engine: LS3
Transmission: Tick TR6060 w/ Mantic 9000 clutch
Axle/Gears: Strange S60 w/ 3.73 True Trac
Wilwood Vs. Flynbye
I'm looking at these brakes from Wilwood vs. the Wilwood kit from Flynbye and was wondering if anybody has had some experience with either kit and could give some feedback on how they perform.

What wheels are you going to run? Even though the Wilwoods say will fit under 16" wheels - most anything 13" will not.
That Wilwood kit seems to be at least $200 high also.

The thing with Flynbye is that I cannot get him to answer his PMs, emails or phone. He used to be very active here and then went to a website to bettr serve his customers but Im afraid to order anything from his site when he doesnt return emails or anything.
I just need rear disc brackets and some rear hard lines though

He set me up with a complete C6 Z51 front brake kit and I couldnt be happier.

I wish people knew what they were talking about before they post.. This is a vented 0.81 inch rotor.. That is just a tad undersized(1.4 in VS 0.810in) than a brand new Factory rotor.. And is fine for the street per Wilwood this rotor is also over 12 inches in diameter...(12.19in)
If you do one brake job on your car and have your rotors turned this rotor is still thicker than your factory rotors after turning..
Shop around before you do... what everybody else does.. And you'll save a few bucks.
kit# 140-11275 under $800...price now is $830...but do shop..I did mine
With a caliper upgrade from 4 to 6 piston..a few more bucks..just shop..

Does Wilwood offer dust boots with your calipers? If so excuse the rest of my statement and my view may not apply to how you use your car..... typically they are not sealed and just plain weather will seize the pistons in the bores over time. I have had many conversations with them about the lack of seals on these calipers and we have made some progress in one line I deal with (the Toro workman) basically a $25,000 golf cart sized vehicle which uses a dual piston Wilwood caliper at all four corners, with the help of Toro engineers (buying power) Wilwood machined grooves into the same calipers and molded seals AND warrantied several calipers in my and other fleets in my area. It would be a good option if they offered it to all the "street-able" calipers, but looking at their website its not an option easily added if it is.
So for that reason and that reason alone, many are turned off from using Wilwood calipers and kits on the street with normal weather conditions. Now if you have a straight show and shine or dedicated track car then yes these are a great option, but drive those things on the street with regular weather and conditions and you will find that piston dust boots are a requirement on a car dedicated to daily use.

most of us guys who dump 600+HP into a car always keep an eye on things...but I see your point..
that's why I Retained my rear brakes
