What is the circlip for?
Hi everyone,
Just got some re-manufactured factory and notice they have a circlip as in the picture below:
What's it for? Provide some sort of tension on the pad or should I remove it?
Also, the paint that's on the caliper, is that just for shipping purposes and should I consider re-painting them?
Thanks

That's The Brake Pad Dampening Spring,The Inboard Pad Snaps Under It,That Caliper Is Bare Metal It's Not Painted. Painting Will Prevent Them From Rusting As Fast As The Bare Metal,I Did Mine Last Year And Painted Them

Thanks for that, I'll leave the dampening spring in there and get to painting the calipers! Yours look quite good.
