Car: 1986 IROCZ
Engine: 305 TPI
Transmission: 700R4 w/ stage 2 shift kit
FS: 86 Iroc in PA (w/ pics and detailed desc.)
The vehicle is in great condition. It is an 86 IROC w/ 305 TPI, 4sp Automatic, 3.42 stock rear.
Pictures can be seen here:
car pictures and photos at CarDomain.com
gibbyZone Photo's - My 86 Iroc-Z
http://gibbyzone.com/fs/index.php?dir=camaro/ (newer ones w/ prefix "IMG_")
Everything is stock except the following customizations. In order of installation, the customizations are as follows:
- 07/20/02 - Flowmaster 80s series 3 chamber crossflow muffler (PN: 43083)
- 09/13/02 - new OEM water pump (needed replacement)
- 12/04/02 - B&M Stage 2 shift kit (shifts really nice and firm)
- 03/21/03 - Jet Stage 2 Performance Chip and 160 degree thermostat
- 04/02/03 - 2 New 245/50HR16 performance tires on the front
- 04/21/03 - Spark plugs, brakes, pvc valve (regular maintenance)
- 05/04/03 - Hedman Headers (PN: 68470) installed w/ y-pipe and w/o emissions equipment, exhaust welded, cat. eliminated, new heater hoses
- 05/15/03 - MSD SuperConductor Spark plug wires
- 05/23/03 - Corvette 3-wire heated O2 sensor and connector installed
- 10/10/03 - front end alignment and new high performance tires on the rear
The stereo components that are in the car are the Kenwood 4x6 front speakers and Eclipse 6x9 rear speakers. The head unit is a Pioneer DEHP-7700MP.
The oil has been changed as frequently as needed, it never reached the 3,000 mile marker w/ me as I have been driving it much less than 5k per year to keep it emissions exempt.
It's PA inspected until 1/07.
The condition of the vehicle is great! The first owner had it for two years. The second owner had it since 1988 until 2002. He had it garaged for the whole time. I am the third owner of this vehicle and I have customized it a bit as noted above. I purchased it in 2002 and kept a cover and a tarp on it during inclement weather. The paint is great for original. However, it is starting to deteriorate because I don’t have a garage. The shine is amazing. The interior is also in great condition.
The car only has approx. 57,500 ORIGINAL miles on it (although, I’m going to Ocean City, MD w/ it this weekend). When I purchased it in Feb. 23, 2002 it had 50,045 miles on it. Since then I put approx. 7,000 miles on it. The paint is pretty good for an 86 car. The interior is in excellent shape. The whole car cleans up great. I changed oil regularly as did the previous owner.
Here are, honestly, ALL of the exterior defects of the vehicle. There are a few surface scratches on the sides of the car. There is some minor oxidation on the top surfaces of the car. There are a few dents near the front of the hood (had a bad hood latch and didn’t close correctly). There are a few scuffs on the plastic piece below the bumper. The rear bumper has webbing (see pic). However, from about 4 feet it looks amazing!. UPDATE: As of this week, I discovered what appears to be more severe acid rain damage. This results in a discoloration of the paint. It occurred in approximately 3 places (some on the hood, and 2 on the roof). I want to point out that I am overly particular about my possessions. All my friends and family say that the car is in excellent shape. I just wanted to make potential buyers aware of all the visual defects of the car.
I replaced the trunk release assembly (the trunk wouldn’t shut and now it works fine).
The car ran 14.9s 1/4 mile on street tires. It has headers, Flowmaster 80s series muffler, and NO catalytic converter. For this reason, it probably will not pass emissions. I am located in Pottstown, PA (19464), if you want to come see the car. Email me for more pics.
I take it to local car shows all the time and many, many people turn to look at it. The exhaust is loud and in my location, illegal, as there aren’t any emissions equipment on it.
It runs strong. There is a JET computer chip in it as well as MSD spark plug wires. There was a stage 2 shift kit professionally installed. I used to be an auto detailer so I keep my own cars in excellent shape and they are, for the most part, always clean.
If interested or have any questions, email me at agibby5@gibbyzone.com Buyer will schedule ALL shipping or will otherwise come and pick it up. Payment is to be made in full by CASH, money order, or check. If paying w/ a check I will wait two weeks (or until necessary) until it clears.
The price is 5200.00. Please make an offer. Also, I urge you to come see the car. Thanks.
The car is in Pennsylvania, 45 minutes away from Philadelphia.

If I was you I'd put it up in a local paper or ebay. This board is defintely a buyers' market.
IMO your car is definitely worth $5k if not more, blue book alone, with those miles. Good luck selling it.

If you can get one in better shape for 2500.00, then you're stealing it from someone... I dont believe it. I'd have to see the transaction happening.
Anyway, thanks for your suggestion. I will give it a try.
Until then, its still for sale!
