Re: 1987 5.7 IROC-Z for sale, 5300 original miles
How's it going? I sell cars for a living, but not a regular salesperson at a new car store. So I'm gonna make a comment, what I think is going on here is that it's a very low mileage excellent condition car thats worth top dollar whatever that is, I think thats what this ad is suggesting. True, I would have taken a lot more pictures and wrote way more but this is what I'm getting from this ad. When someone writes an ad like this it should be perfect when you go look at it. Just my two cents

That's a truly remarkable car. If I could offer just one suggestion, it's that you post pics of the underside of the car. To be honest, everybody expects the exterior and interior to be perfect with that mileage. What separates one no-mile thirdgen from the rest is what the underside looks like. Does it have undercoating, or was this one spared? Are the original markings still visible, are the paper tags on the springs still in good shape, etc.

For the right price, I'd sell my car!! Unlike you, Charlie, I don't have the emotional attachment of ordering the car new. I'd personally prefer a blue IROC-Z with the 5 speed and G92 and TTops. I'd also be willing to go with a red one. I like my car, but I would never have ordered my car as it sits now. Many years ago, there was a young member of TGO that had a 1987 IROC-Z with every option my car had, but was a 5 speed-LB9 G92. It had 19k miles at the time. Unfortunately, the member had to sell the car to pay for college and I wasn't in a place to buy. I haven't found many since.

I posted a total of 12 pics, 3 pics of the undercarriage. Are you guys not seeing them?
I assumed this was known but just in case all 1987 5.7 came standard with all G92 options.

Actually, the 5.7 didn't come with G92. It came standard with all of the G92 options, but G92 was not listed. My post above mentioned the 305 with G92 because it was not standard on the 305. Any year other than an '87 350, the G92 is mandatory for me.

Wow SM, I thought that was the car you'd always have wanted lol. Mine is exactly the way I'd have ordered. The only thing I might have wanted was the trunk carpet, but I really don't care much. I will never sell unless mayyyyybe the same exact car in even better condition with even lower miles should come along some day. I doubt it will ever happen though. Also, a 100% stock car is a little boring to me!

Re: 1987 5.7 IROC-Z for sale, 5300 original miles
Chris,
I love my car, but the color was not my first choice and I'm not a fan of leather. Now, my car having leather makes it more "loaded", but I'm a simple guy and would prefer the performance options over all of the other stuff. On a two door car, I might not have ordered the car with power windows or locks, power leather seats or the Bose stereo. TTops and the power options are a requirement today, but not back then.
I looked at a 2003 Mustang GT when they were new and the only non standard option I was looking for was the Mach stereo upgrade. Power windows and locks was standard as was AC in 2003.

Re: 1987 5.7 IROC-Z for sale, 5300 original miles
I think I saw this car on Auto Trader today! It is listed for 16K. Thats a fair price for a beautiful car! Its my favorite color too! Im happy with my 5-speed. But if I were to get an automatic it would have to have the L98 like this car. Oh and there is a photo of the underside. It doesn't look undercoated to me. Glad I don't have another 16K laying around. I would have a tough time explaining to the wife why I need another blue 87 camaro.
