1989 Camaro IROC-Z Z28 5.7L 350 V8 T-TOPS *FOR SALE*

For sale is a MINT 1989 Camaro. It is a true Iroc-z Z28. Numbers matching and original 5.7 350 engine!
It is all original and has the highly sought after, rare 5.7L 350 V8 Tuned Port engine in it.
Most made had the 305 V8 in them, or the V6. And most today have rebuilt carborated frankenstein engines with high mileage or swapped out engines from other cars.
This is a true survivor of time.
Has only 103,000 ORIGINAL MILES.
Runs STRONG.
Has T-TOPS that do not leak.
Original irocz rims with center caps!
Has brand new exhaust that sounds amazing.
Completely clean and rust-free underneath the car.
Has HEAT, AIR CONDITIONING, POWER WINDOWS, LOCKS, SEATS, AND POWER HATCH STILL WORKS! Very hard to find a 3rd gen Camaro with a working power hatch.
Also has original leather T-Top bag in the back as well as a car cover custom made for this car.
I am the 3rd owner of the car. The person i bought it from had it kept in a heated garage and when he had purchased the car, it only had 88,000 miles on it. When he sold it to me it had 98k.
If you love Camaros and classic cars, then this car is for you. Really fun car. And it's not just a toy, can be an everyday driver also. It is currently my everyday driver and it is super reliable and is a great car. Just like it was back in 1989.

GREAT SUMMER CAR WITH THE T TOPS OFF ON A NICE SUNNY DAY!

Please call or text me at 631-294-8216

*Brand new tires 4/3/13 cost me over $800!

CLEAN NY STATE TITLE IN HAND READY TO GO

ASKING $7500 SERIOUS CASH OFFERS ONLY. NO LOWBALLERS.

(i have more pictures, but they only let me upload 3 pictures.)

Re: 1989 Camaro IROC-Z Z28 5.7L 350 V8 T-TOPS *FOR SALE*

I love how everyone says how rare the 5.7L engine is...In 1989 there were around 24000 Irocs made and over 12000 had 5.7L engines.

I wouldn't call that rare.

And your point is.....? Only 12,000 had the 5.7 350 out of the hundreds of thousands made and only 24,000 irocs with either engine, and a bunch were destroyed over 25 years and the majority of existing ones today are crap rust buckets. Mine isn't 100% perfect, but its a lot better than most out there. NADAGUIDES values a 1989 camaro iroc with ttops, 5.7 engine, factory a/c and 107k miles at $3700 for low retail (bad condition), $6,400 average retail (average), and $13,110 high retail (super clean) According to that mine is worth around $7,500-$8,000. I just want to sell it so im not asking full worth.

So in other words, you came onto this site of enthusiasts, with an overpriced add, insulted the "majority" of us having " rust buckets" and all the while expecting to get LS1 money for a car people have trouble selling at half that price.

GLWS........

Re: 1989 Camaro IROC-Z Z28 5.7L 350 V8 T-TOPS *FOR SALE*

I just drove 3 hours to look at this car. $16.75 in tolls $40 in gas. Here is the true condition of this wreck.
now missing 1 black hood louver
car was originaly maroon
windshield pan rusting at top
t top moulding rusted and repainted to cover it up
a/c compressor not engaging therefore blowing warm air
drivers rear wheel well **** poorly repaired after accident
2 nasty baseball sized rust spots on passenger side painted
front urethane cover cracked all over
rear spoiler looks like a face lift gone bad
transmission mount is broken
transmission fluid is overfilled and burnt
transmission shifts hard
tach is broken and reads 3k at idle
front brake rotors are starting to crack
t tops leak
vin tag has an abnormal amount of rust on it
passenger outer door handle sticks
driver and passenger outer window felts are missing sections
shift indicator does not line up
I offered him $1000 then went as high as $1200, he wants at least $4000
He is only 19 years old so I explained to him that if someone drives from another state to see the car they may get physical with him. Pictures must be old or just make the car look better than it is.

Re: 1989 Camaro IROC-Z Z28 5.7L 350 V8 T-TOPS *FOR SALE*

drivers door hinges starting to sag
hood hinges are worn and cause hood to lift at windshield
power mirror switch not responsive

the good: does not overheat, hood and hatch stay up without human assistance

No wonder his ad keeps being re-posted on craiglist and has been listed for the last several weeks.

He just don't know how to read "the book"

low retail is not "bad condition" as there is no retail for a car in "bad condition".

Forgot to mention that the horn only works if you pop off the horn pad and twist the wires together.

True story. Post after post on CL of the same IROC,one listing after the next. That's a red flag. The way I figure it, a solid IROC properly priced and honestly described, will sell itself to an informed buyer.

In your own words "For sale is a MINT 1989 Camaro".

At least to me, from a collector perspective, an IROC is original only once. The word "MINT" represents this vehicle in "as it rolled off the GM assembly line" condition. Having original components as the RPO codes state. And certainly having the factory options and equipment whose condition is in as-new state. Of a level of quality as one might find it when it was first on the showroom floor at the selling dealership. "MINT" no longer applies when there are things like color change, visible wear and/or rust conditions present.

Re: 1989 Camaro IROC-Z Z28 5.7L 350 V8 T-TOPS *FOR SALE*

I sold the car in October 2013 for $5,400. Buyer loved the car and was very happy. I was sad to see it go. It was a great car and was in amazing condition compared to other third gens i have seen, had no rust, completely clean and new underbody, plus it was all original and a numbers matching 5.7 that ran great, started right up, didn't stall and didn't overheat and had a 100% smooth shifting transmission. was my daily driver back then for over a year.

The guy who drove far to see it... i did not lie to him at all about the condition of the car. the front (bottom part) of the bumper had some small cracks you could only see up close. oh well, its a 25 year old car don't be a baby. He test drove it, said nothing but great things about how well it drove. He would pull over and accelerate hard and see how smooth the car shifted and was so happy with the way it drove. he even took the temp of the engine (with his own meter thing) before he drove it and after (drove for like 25 mins, and he drove it hard) and it was the same temp.

after the test drive he was saying how he had no money and his wife wouldnt allow him to buy the car and could only spend $1,000. i told him no and he said how it's a 25 year old car so its not worth anything. the guy was a jerk. wasted my time and my gas. i ended up selling the car for $5,400. lowest offer i got besides this guy who complained was $4k and i turned that down even though the person was nice.

OH, and the pictures were taken by me in the summer of 2013. This guy looked at the car in the summer or September i don't remember exactly

I do not know why you continue to compound your error. Please just STOP!

It may be the vehicle was pretty nice but that is hardly the point.

The advert represented the IROC as "For sale is a MINT 1989 Camaro". "All original". "...true survivor". These are your own words and these words mean something of profound importance to informed collectors in this hobby. Because a vehicle is original only once.

To say this a different way, these statements convey a level of originality and condition that - due to cracks, wear, color change and other factors - were misrepresentations. Plain and simple.
