1986 G92 IROC for sale/trade

1986 G92 IROC for sale/trade

Hey guys, its time for me to part with my camaro and get another project, hopefully another thirdgen. The car is an 86 z28 with 70k miles on rebuilt motor. The interior is in great condition, and the undercarriage is rust free. There is a small spot on the passenger door but it has been por15'd. The car has a new ecu, eprom, fuel pump, monroe suspension, headliner, headlights, maf sensor, torque thrust 2's, wheel bearings, radiator, fan, fan relay, pioneer headunit, and more that im not remembering. The downside to the car is it needs paint and a little body work. The car is a g80/g92 and j65 optioned car with the original motor and 700r4. Id like to get 4500 or a trade for a manual/v8 car. thats not an IROC by the VIN sticker, no B4Z

I thought only irocs had the g92 option?

Plus the rear emblem on the Bumper is not IROC-Z or on the dash on the passenger side

This looks to be a base Z28, rather than an IROC-Z. The fact that no B4Z code exists on the SPID and a Z28 code does, is one clue. Also, G92 (performance axle ratio) in this particular case means GU5, (3.23 gear ratio).

In 1986, LB9 IROC-Zs came standard with a GU5 3.23 with no available option for a performance axle ratio, (G92).

The LB9 Z28 came standard with a 2.73 gear, with an optional performance axle (G92) which gave you a GU5 3.23.

BTW, just to add to the confusion, '88-'90 IROC-Zs didn't have a B4Z code, they had a Z28 code on the SPID.

According to nastyz28.com, only 4,703 cars came with the g92 option from 1986.

And based on all of this new information, do you think 4500 is fair? Im not really sure of the value of this car anymore... it doesnt have the peanut cam luckily, thats already been taken care of by the previous owner haha.
