Car: 1991 Z28 convertible built 3/1/1990
Engine: Cammed 6.0L LSX
Transmission: T56
Axle/Gears: custom Ford 8.8", 4.10 gears
SOLD!!! 1991 Z28 vert 6.0 LSx T56 swap - fully built
Sold!
I've owned this car since I was 15 (14 yrs total) and did all the modifications myself. Serious parties are encouraged to contact me by PM, email, or phone (please mention you found me on TGO if calling so I can ascertain you are not another Craigslist tire kicker)
My contact info if you wish to reach me outside of PM's on TGO: bluezee28@gmail.com 314-413-1861
1991 Z28 convertible - 113,xxx miles on the original odometer
Best time to date 12.15 @ 116 spinning 1st gear, made 420/407 to the wheels.
LQ4 6.0L / T56 swap was completed in 2009 @ 106,xxx miles, at which time the block was completely rebuilt using an LS2 crank, forged rods and pistons w/ valve reliefs, all new bearings and seals, Texas Speed MS4 camshaft, Scorpion 1.7 rockers, dual valve springs, and a fresh valve job on stock 317 casting heads with an LS6 intake to top it off. The block was balanced and blueprinted. I used Brad Penn break-in oil with this engine.
The exhaust is made up of Stainless Works 1 3/4" longtubes with 3" slip fit collectors into a stainless steel offroad y-pipe and stainless steel Magnaflow bullet dumped right before the axle.
The T56 was completely gone through and rebuilt at 110,xxx miles with a steel 3-4 shift fork, bronze pads on the 1-2 and 3-4 forks, billet synchro keys, upgraded synchro assemblies, bearings and seals, and a new GM input shaft. It has a Tick adjustable master cylinder (bought new at time of swap) and a Spec 4 clutch (unknown mileage)
Ford 8.8 (custom built by TGO member Cam- using 9" axle tubes and fbody mounting brackets) swapped in at approx. 109,xxx using all new Ford Racing track-lok posi, Ford Racing ring and pinion and 4.10 gears, and 31 spline Moser axles.
The chassis and suspension has the following modifications with approximate mileage on each:
Spohn tubular k member (5,000)
Spohn adjustable torque arm (5,000)
Spohn adjustable lca's and lcarbs (3,000)
Energy Suspension sway bar end links (10,000)
Energy Suspension A-arm bushings (3,000)
Custom built adjustable panhard bar (20,000)
Koni Yellow shocks (300)
KYB struts (30,000)
Hotchkis springs (30,000)
Founders strut mounts (3,000)
Edelbrock strut tower brace (20,000)
Alston Racing subframe connectors (25,000)
Spohn outer subframe connectors (4,000)
LS1 front and rear brakes rebuilt and powdercoated (1,500)
Other modifications worth mentioning:
-Custom upholstered leather '97-'02 Camaro seats (Brand new, have been sat in only a handful of times)
-Retrofitted HID low beams with 6,000k bulbs
-Replacement canvas convertible top with glass window
-17x 9.5 and 18x 10.5 deep dish chrome C5's, front tires are brand new 275/40/17 BfGoodrich GForce Sport Comp 2's, rears are 305/35/18 Nitto drag radials with approx. 1,000 miles on them.
-Custom modified '91-'92 Z28 spoiler
I've have lots of receipts for this build, covering most of what I've purchased although some of my receipts have been lost throughout multiple moves. There are also many other things not mentioned above that I'd be happy to discuss with interested individuals. The one remaining thing that I wanted to do to the car was to give it a good paint job. Most of the car is original paint with just a few places being touched up after the clear failed on the hood and trunk lid, and after having been backed into and needing one of the quarter panels blended to match. The car in general looks great for its age and gets compliments often, but the paint is showing its age.
SOLD
12.15 @ 116 run
(Photo taken prior to purchase of the front tires mentioned above)
(photo taken prior to Founders strut mounts and re-installation of Edelbrock stb)

I will help coordinate shipping at buyer's expense but would obviously rather have the buyer come see it in person first.

Nice! It would have been cool had your camera person slowly zoomed as you made your run and have the time board in focus at the end of the vid and fade to black.....jmo

Man, this breaks my heart to see you trying to sell this. Honestly, if I had the money, I'd pick it up with the option for you to buy it back. Again, the offer still stands to meet up in like 3 weeks with the hardtop IROC you built. However you slice it, best of luck and hope your issues resolve themselves.

Shoot-dang! This has pretty much been my dream car since I was like 8! I'm even in the Kansas City area too! Sadly, my camaro fund won't reach that price for about 3 more years.

Looks like I'll be hanging onto it. I've had only one offer that was serious and was a few thousand short. A mod can lock this but if anyone feels they want it they can email me. I'm gonna fix a few small things that have annoyed me the last few years and maybe I will enjoy it once again.

Considering selling again, bump for nice weather in a nice convertible. Price reduced from $17,500 to $15,500. I've got an appraisal in hand for $17,000 which is what it's insured for.

The rear was made for 4th gen wheels, so the only spacers are on the front.

Re: 1991 Z28 vert 6.0 LSx T56 swap - fully built
Awesome car, I hope my soon to start project ends up like yours,
Hope you don't mind the question: what's the paint code on it?
I love that color and if I ever build mine id like that color
If car still available, I will make you an offer in a few months, just working on getting rid of some cc debt I accumulated. Before I can dump $ on my project or purchase one already built.
Thanks

Will trade for a 4WD Tahoe or crew cab Silverado/Sierra (plus cash on my end depending on the trade).

Lowered price from $13,000 to $12,000 due to some unexpected expenses; hoping someone here can give it a new home.

Bump, I'm surprised you haven't sold it yet. Selling mine to focus on getting my doctor/PhD but may end up getting another one that has work done or a stock corvette for something different.

Honestly I think it's just a very small market for this car. I have spoken to maybe 4 interested parties but they have either not been ready to pull the trigger financially or weren't in the same ballpark price wise.
