I am sure many on this forum are familiar with this car which I purchased during the Winter of 2013 from the original builder. A detailed build thread can still be found at https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/cama...8-ls1-t56.html

The only changes I have made are new headers and 3" stainless exhaust with a Magnaflow cat-back; new motor mounts; new Momo steering wheel; ride height adjusted; and misc. wiring and other odds and ends. All other equipment from the build thread and previous listing are present and included.

I've put about 150 miles on the car, and its incredible to drive. The engine pulls very hard throughout the rpm range, no flat spots whatsoever. The twin-plate clutch has a light pedal, and the rack and pinion steering is a hugh improvement over stock. For a car that was set up for track days, its very easy to drive on the street.

When I bought the car I had thoughts of reinstalling a stock interior, but now that I have driven it, I wouldn't bother. The heat is not hooked up, and may take some doing with the 4th gen controls. The gauges all work, and so do the power windows. The switches, however, need to be mounted.

The body work is very straight with the exception of the fiberglass hood, and a couple spider cracks in the body skirts. Nothing that's really noticeable, but I want to be clear this is a high end driver quality paint job, but it is not what I would consider a 'show car'. It was a rust free car taken down and painted with hours and hours spent on prep. Due to endless Michigan weather, the car was not washed before the photos were taken. The Camaro really looks good, and it wouldn't take much to bring it up to show standards. Honestly, its too much fun to drive for that in my opinion.

Mechanically, it seems very sound. The engine has a little blow-by on start up, but my local mechanic thinks this will subside as the rings seat. I'm not a mechanic, and people are welcome to come and drive the car for themselves. I doubt there will be any disappointments. If it wasn't for another project, I would be keeping the car, and enjoying it myself.

I'm happy to answer any questions, or take additional pictures, etc. The asking price is $16,500 or best offer, and the car is located in Northern Michigan.
I may consider trades for complete, running vehicles of similar value and condition. Rear seats are a must (so I have been told).

I'm a little confused, what makes this a $16,500 car?

I understand it has an LS/t56 swap and all the suspension work, but it still seems steep.

(fyi, I'm not a potential buyer, just trying to understand what I'm reading).

To understand you need to build one, with those parts, when your done add up your receipts/time, then you will understand.

Any dyno sheets? How did you transport the car when you bought it?

The car has not been on a dyno, and I live in a small town, so I don't have access to one. If someone wants to make an offer contingent on a run, I am happy to look into it.

I had the car shipped in an enclosed transport from Georgia, and then brought it the last 150 miles on a car hauler.

Are you in Southern Georgia? I only ask because the former owner moved at one point while the car was being built.

Either way it was about $800 for enclosed shipping to Southern Michigan. I assume it would be close to $1000-$1200 from where I live "Up North". I would willing to move the car a reasonable distance (couple of hours) if that helps anyone with the shipping costs.

Traverse City is about 90 miles from my home, and I am guessing that would be the best bet for a major transport company. Just let me know if you have any other questions.

I drove it this morning which always makes me want to keep it. A guy working outside our house about had a heart attack when it fired up in the garage

If I had more storage space, and didn't have another pro-touring car, I would keep this for sure. I'm willing to consider a trade for a pick-up, old wagon, or something that could sit outside during the summer. Won't do that to this car.

Do you have any good pictures of the spindle and brake package? The suspension configuration in your car is identical to mine. Accept I modified my racecraft spindles to clear factory wheels with no spacers.

The dash swap wouldn't be my first choice either, but its held up fine over the 500 or so miles I've driven the car.

I don't think sorting the interior would be that difficult, but I've been busy with other projects.

A few questions;
Do you have any pics of the current interior and engine compartment?
Is the blow by still happening?
Is there windshield wipers and do they work?
Do the window switches just hang there, or did you get them mounted?
Are there any other electrical issues and if so what?

Sorry for the delayed reply, but I've been out of town the past several days.

I will try to take a few pictures as you've requested, but we've been hit with over a foot of snow, so getting into the storage building may be a challenge.

The blow-by seems to have diminished, and hasn't been an issue.

I did have wipers installed on a two-speed toggle switch. You just have to time turning them off at the bottom of the sweep since they don't automatically retract.

Window switches are as pictured. I have not mounted them in the doors.

No know electrical issues.

did you do the break in on the motor. you said you only put 150 miles in 12 months was that before or after the break in period? Very interested in the car just want to make sure break in was performed properly.

When I first posted the car back in the Spring, it had less than 150 miles on it, and is now closer to 500. I did do an oil change about mid summer.

The "break in" I did was to bring the car up temp, and then drive it at varying engine speeds, but never WOT. Each time I'd drive the car, I'd run it up through the first three gears with fairly hard acceleration. Most of the miles came on one, 180 mile drive during which there we no issues.

Not overly scientific, but this was my understanding of how to "break in" an LS engine. Seems to be quite a bit of debate over exactly what is the best method. I didn't take it out and beat on it, but I didn't simply drive around in traffic lugging the engine, or just let it idle.

Hope that helps to answer your questions. I had a buyer very close, but he's yet to send the money. Good news is that I did have the storage building plowed out, so I can currently get to the car. At least until is snows again...

I've never really payed attention, so I would be guessing. I can say the 6th gear of this T56 is extremely tall. Even with the 3.73 rear end, I never get into 6th gear much below 70mph.
