92 Camaro 370 CID T56 LS swap
11,000 complete or 6,000 as a roller with harness and longtubes/full exhaust
For sale, is my 92 Camaro, with a 370 CID iron block engine, T56 trans, and hybrid ford 8.8 rear. I recently bought another project that needs a lot of money and work to get together, and am offering this car for sale to help fund the new project.
I have owned the car since may of 2006, and have been around it my entire life, as it was bought new by a family friend. Car was originally a basic RS with 3.1 V6 and automatic trans. It's been a summer driver, and continual project ever since.
Engine:
.030 over 6.0 shortblock from a 01 3/4 truck, professionally built and tuned by baker engineering in Nunica MI. Stock block, crank, and rods, with ARP rod bolts, and speed-pro coated flatop pistons. Top end consists of stock 243s, milled .030, LS6 intake, torquer V2 cam, and LS7 lifters. Coated main, rod, and cam bearings were used. Stainless works 1-3/4 longtubes, with true duals, Xpipe, and MagnaFlow bullets. Car sounds awesome! Engine is 2 years old with not quite 10K miles on it. Car dyno'd 407HP and 391TQ at the tire. I have paperwork for the motor and dyno sheets.
Trans:
T56 from a 99 Trans am, with typical "stage2" upgrades (bronze fork pads, solid synchro keys, carbon blocker rings, ect.). Trans is 3 years old, 16k miles on it, with a hurst billit plus shifter. Have paperwork for this trans
Stage2 monster clutch and billet steel flywheel were new this spring, and have less than 1,000 miles on them
Rear axle:
Hybrid ford 8.8.housing, with Motive 3.90 gearset, all new bearings, 31 spline moser axles, moser girdle cover, and ford racing trak-lok posi carrier. All is new this spring with less than 1,000 miles on it all.
Brakes:
LS1 Fbody brakes, front and rear, new calipers, pads, rotors, stainless braided hoses, and 3rd gen specific Ebrake cables, all also new this spring with less than 1,000 miles.
Fuel:
Factory 4th gen plastic tank, with a raceteonix 255LPH pump, also new this spring.
Suspension:
Hotchkis rear Control arms, swaybar and Panhard bar, spohn adjustable torque arm, mounted on the crossmember, AGX single adjustable shocks at the rear. Stock F41 springs at all corners, UMI 6 point subframe connectors were professionally installed. Front suspension was totally rebuilt this spring, minus struts that I previousely replaced. New balljoints, pro-thane control arm bushings, adjusting sleeves, inner and outer tie rod ends, pitman arm, and centerlink. Only Moog replacement parts were used, no cheap house-branded parts.
Interior:
Very clean, and near flawless interior. Perfect dashpad, perfect 4th gen ebony leather from a 14,000 mile 2002 SS, and new headliner. Car has the 140 cluster, which is hard to find for a 90-92 car.
The car was totally stripped to a shell, and all body and paint work was professionally done in 2007, and the factory rims were re-furbished at the same time. It does have stone chips showing from its age, but it is still a clean and sharp looking car, and draws attention at local shows and car meets.
The car looks, drives, and sounds great. I will also offer the car for sale as a roller, for 6,000. If sold as a roller, I will keep the clutch hydraulics, and pcm with the engine and trans. I will leave the pedals, and harness with the car, as all factory guages function with it.
The only thing the car should have, is a set of tires, everything else is top-notch.
I am not interested in any trades, full or partial, other than a TVS2300, or comparable whipple charger for LS engine.
A link to a small article, featuring this car and 4 others. The car had a LS1 shortblock in it at the time of the article.

Re: 92 Camaro 370 CID T56 LS swap
I've only had one serious inquiry on the car in 3 weeks. I suppose this car's purpose is to spend it's days with me, and the new project will just take a bit longer to complete than desired. I know 11K is on the higher end of thirdgen Fbody pricing, but I didn't think I was out of line with the level of work done, and quality of parts used to put it together. It could be the 2-tone color scheme on a 91-92 car that is a turn-off? In anycase case, atleast I wont regret it selling later down the road.
