Car: 91 Z28
Engine: LS1
Transmission: TKO 600
91 LS1 Camaro Z28 - 30k Miles - TKO 5 speed
Sold.
1991 Camaro Z28 with ~30000 Miles (asking $10,000)
I purchased the car in 2004 with 11’000 miles on the clock and no engine or transmission. The previous owner from New York had a supercharger and blew up the engine so it sat in a garage for some time and collected no miles. It had little to no rust and was essentially a blank slate for my dad and I. We took the opportunity to to strip the car down and clean up/make improvements while building it up. Originally an automatic, we converted it to a 5 speed (TKO 600) and installed an LS1 for good measure.
Specific upgrades/changes over the years:
The car isn’t perfect, but the issues are primarily cosmetic:
It really is a fun car especially at track days. It surprises a lot of people and I used to get a ton of compliments. No one driving an expensive track car wants to let a third gen camaro by so it draws attention when they have to.
I am going to try to get some new pictures up soon. I am also in the process of uploading some of my old track videos.
Please check my imgur album for complete build and YouTube Playlist for track videos.
Please feel free to PM or email me. The car is currently stored in Hartford, WI.

Originally an automatic, we converted it to a 5 speed (TKO 600) and installed an LS1 for good measure.
Specific upgrades/changes over the years:
- LS1 from 2002 Firebird
- now at ~50k miles
- LS6 Cam, valve springs, valves, block, intake manifold
- Minor port work
- ARP Head bolts
- Turn One Power Steering Pump
- Lakewood Scattershield
- TKO 600
- now at ~20k miles
- 1st: 2.87, 2nd: 1.89, 3rd: 1.28, 4th: 1.00 5th:.82
- 12” Brakes (all 4) from 2002 Firebird
- Newer front rotors (generic)
- Hawks HPS Pads on all 4
- Additional Set of Hawks DTC-30 and ATE rotors for up front (road racing)
- Aluminum drive shaft from 2002 Firebird
- 3.23 Rear End from 2002 Firebird
- TrueTrac Locking Unit
- TA Performance Girdles
- Bolt-in Subframe Connectors
- Spohn Tubular Adjustable Panhard Bar
- Spohn Adjustable Torque Arm and crossmember
- Modified the connection between the crossmember and the torque arm becuase it felt a little loose
- Lakewood Rear Lower Control Arms
- Recaro Front Seats
- American Racing Longboard Wheels 17x10
- 2 wheel spacers up front unfortunately
- 4 265/40/17 Direzza Star Spec Z1
- Hotchkis Strut Tower Brace
- Koni Orange Adjustable Shocks
- Eibach Sportline Lowering Springs
- Wonderbar
- Adjustable brake proportioning valve
- Power steering cooler
- Optima Red Top mounted in rear
- 36mm hollow front sway bar
- 21mm rear
- All new polyurethane bushings
- Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator
- Hooker Muffler
- Custom Exhaust
- New Headliner (this year)
The car isn’t perfect, but the issues are primarily cosmetic:
- Original hood, with clear coat/paint issue on the blister
- Imperfections on the roof
- Someone had repainted the right front fender poorly and it is now chipping
- Font spoiler has some scratches from steep driveways
- Curb rash on the wheels
- Handbrake isn’t hooked up - I have the adapter cables, but forgot that we ground off the bracket for the exhaust
- Reverse lights are not hooked up - need to investigate
- Shifter doesn’t line up perfectly for the trim piece so I never installed it
- Could use an alignment
It really is a fun car especially at track days. It surprises a lot of people and I used to get a ton of compliments. No one driving an expensive track car wants to let a third gen camaro by so it draws attention when they have to.

I'm having a hard time getting the video playlist to show up, so I'm creating this post to edit later.

Re: 91 LS1 Camaro Z28 - 30k Miles - TKO 5 speed
I have received more trade/crap offers on Craigslist than I ever thought possible. It's time for a new project so I've lowered the price to 10,000.
