Dont waste your money and time.. what i did was...(of course im thinkign that you care) i went to Jo Ann Fabrics, or any fabric store and i bought some really thick felt that was black and greyish, it looks exactly like the speaker box carpet, and it cost be about 75 cents a yard. thats awesome.

I dunno.... I think felt would have a tendency to wear pretty badly. It's tough to avoid a bit of movement/friction in a car application, and I think the felt would just begin to wear down in places. Not to mention if you're putting things on or around the stuff as well.
Carpet is more resilient, and that's why people use it. Tweed is even more durable, which is why it's often seen in car interiors. Not the nicest looking stuff though.... and it'd be pretty frustrating trying to cover a box with it. But my point is that durability is a key factor, and I don't think felt can cut it.

Yeah, but KJ's was made of carpet. House carpet if I remember correctly. VERY strong stuff.
How has the felt worked out so far? I'm not necessarily saying don't use it, just that I don't think it would hold up as well.
