Delco radio question

I just scored a working Delco UX1 radio for less than $100!...only issue I have is when you turn the radio off the display goes dark, I thought the clock stayed on even with the radio off, also when I turn off the radio a little light bulb on the bottom board lights up but goes out when the radio is turned back on.

Other than that all the radio functions and controls works perfect!

Thanks!

Re: Delco radio question

Interesting, yes the clock should stay on. I have a similar problem that I'm tracking down, whenever I turn my headlights on my display goes off, haha.

Did you do anything to the wiring? Might just be something not connected inside the radio, there are places that will rebuild them but its $$

Re: Delco radio question

Clock goes off when you hit the power button on the radio? It could be a bad transistor. Usually this causes the clock to stay on and drain the battery over a period of several days, but it also could cause the clock to not work properly. Does the clock come on when you hit the recall button?

Yes...the clock comes on with the recal button push...clock holds time and station presets hold also.
