No power (Stereo)

Just got first Z28.
CAR: 1987 IROCZ28
PROBLEM: The car didn't have the factory stereo in it when I bought it, but had wires running for subwoofers to the back. (They cut the back interior wheel well! Ugh) anyway, I got an aftermarket Pionner single din unit, the install kit as well the wiring harness. After wiring the stereo unit to the hardness I connected the cars clips into the harness, no power. So I discontcted them and got a test light out to see if any power is even going to the stereo, there is. So..
QUESTIONS: I realized that the cars colors of wire don't match up to the wiring harness colors. But the clips can only connect / only fit the those designated spots. The YELLOW on the harness is supposed to be the power supply, but when I looked on here I found a diagram saying the ORANGE is the power coming from the car. (Those two were connected but still nothing)
Iv wired up 3 single and double din systems before in other cars and heck I'm even in electrical school. So if these 3rd gen Camaros have something special about them with the wire set up please let me know.
Any help would be great.

Re: No power (Stereo)

The harness has the yellow going into the orange. I'll take a picture of the set up Friday. (Away at college)

Re: No power (Stereo)

Usually the Pioneer wiring is like this:
Yellow - Constant 12 Volt (battery)
Red - Accesory 12 volt (switched) only 12 volts when car in accesory or on position
Black - Ground (chasis)

So the yellow wire goes to orange so the radio will remember the station presets and the time.

Red will go to the cars yellow wire to power on the radio.

Make sure it's grounded.
