newer gm radio fit in 1992 rs?

It will fit right in. The mounting tabs are a bit different but you shouldn't have a problem. I have one with a aux jack wired in if you are interested.

Physically it will fit with little issue(like *84TA said, the mounting tabs are a bit different but no big deal).
The plug is completely different however. I got around it(Not in my TA but another vehicle) was to get the plug out of the car I got the radio out of then reverse engineered the connections to my existing harness.

On the 92 its a direct fit even the plugs in the rear. I have done it on 5 different 3rd gens

There is a thread in here from a couple of months ago where someone did that exact upgrade and it had a lot of information about factory radio swaps.
