Aftermarket audio trouble help!

I just upgraded my stereo on my 92 RS. I installed a Kenwood KDC-BT362U headunit, and replaced the front speakers with Kicker DSC46 4x6 speakers in the dash and DSC693 6x9 speakers in the sail panels. I have a kicker amp CX300.4 powering just the 6x9 speakers for now. I used a Scosche harness to connect the radio to factory harness and used a harmony amp install kit which has a 60amp in line fuse. Now onto the issue...
When I turn the key onto accessory, the speakers make a series of high pitched squelch sounds and then a loud thud before they finally kick on and the amp powers them and the gain adjustment and everything works fine, however the amp is lit up red in protection mode. When I start the car, the amp stays in protection mode however now no sound is coming from the amplified speakers. I have checked the ground and it is solid and the fuse is fine. Does anyone have any kind of experience with this or any suggestions? I have yet to try a different amp, but I have changed grounds, and even run the power and remote wires separate to make sure nothing was exposed or rubbing and still the same. Thanks in advance

With everthibg off, Unplug RCA's....
Then turn it on....
Same problem? Amp related... unplug speakers from amp, check again....

If after unplugging the RCA's, the amp does not go into protection, then it is Deck related.

Updates ?

If the speaker connectors are touching the body, could be grounding out the amp...

All it takes is one tiny strand of wire touching something it shouldn't be touching. Usually i start where the power/ground bolt to the amp. Then check speaker outputs. I would guess that if Its a newer amp the ohm rating on the amp is different than what your setup is at.

Take a pic of your amp install and post it.
