Sound from Carb on Ignition?
Never really worried about the sound or payed much attention to it, but I just don't know what it is. I never hear any other cars make this sound and it's gotten a little higher pitch since I got the car. A friend said he thinks that my carb is "loose" or something and that I should tighten it down and the noise would go away, but I never payed much attention to it. I'm not concerned, I'm just curious.
Here's a video I took about 2 weeks after I bought the car. When I start it up, you'll hear the sound. I start it about half way through the vid. Sounds pretty mellow in the vid, but it's gotten a higher pitch to it now.... then again it's a lot colder out now than when I took the video, so maybe it's normal. Any thoughts?

No, it's just a quick sound. It's right on ignition, after it's started, it's not there. It's a quick sound right as it fires up. I'll probably have to take another video for you to hear it now that it's louder.

It sounded like your starter wasn't quite shimmed right, but that doesn't have anything to do with the carb.

Re: Sound from Carb on Ignition?
Well, it's strange that you say it could be the starter because I had the starter go out on me the day I bought it... it made the noise before it went out, I replaced the starter and put the new one on and it still did it.
I thought it would be the carb because that's where is ounds like it's coming from and not to mention my buddy saying what he did... just kinda stuck in my head that it was the carb.
