flames and fuel spitting from carb 1406
like it says I got flames and fuel spitting from my 1406 on a 305
things I've done recently:
1. put fluid in my steering pump
2. changed my ignition wires for brand new ones
3. adjust idle
it was starting when I first put the wires in and now it won't start it's spitting out fuel from the carb and flames occasionaly
please help!!
I have a 1405 carb lying around should I just replace the 1406? or is it the wires? they're brand new. I just printed out the firing order so I'm going to check that also. many things It could be but it was fine a few days ago?
need help-!

Check the "new" wires for shorts - test continuity with ohm meter - I've bought several "new" wires with shorts before.

Yeah, check your wires and make sure they are in the right order. Also check your cap and rotor, make sure your timing is still ok.

Where is the fuel spitting from? metering rods may be gunked up and unable to properly shut of fuel/air mixture... And what happens when you mix fuel with ignition or extreme heat? if not that, check the level of your floats to make sure theyre ok...
