this part is missing on my carb (pic)

hello

i have rochester 4 barrel carburetor on my stock L69 engine and today i was looking at my carburetor and i noticed that i'm missing this linkage rod
and i was wondering if i will do any damage to it if i keep driving like this with out it ?

And do you know where i can get one?

That rod controls the secondary air flap from opening too soon. Maybe go to your local auto repair place and see if they have any junk quadrajets laying around you can get that part off of. Not really going to damage anything, it's just a driveabillity thing.

So secondary air flap can still open even with out that rod? just that now it opens up too soon with out that rod in place?

Correct. Through that rod, the choke pull-off will prevent the secondaries from slamming open when you lose vacuum on heavy acceleration.

Find a rod and put it in, but you're not doing any damage by driving it like that.

well im not sure but if i press gas pedal it seems to respond better
