Intake and Carb Swap 84Z

Well took the Z to her day at the spa and found out what I thought from the beginning. The Qudra-Junk carb is my problems. I have never had good luck with those things. Im told that when they are right they are one Hel* of a carb. Well in over 10 different applications I have never had a good one.
Solution suggested to me is Eledbrock Intake and Carb, Deleting all of the smog crap. Opinions please before I drop the cash into this? I have read several postings about the different carbs so I will tell you this. I am not looking to have to tune the carb all the time as with what is said about the holley and the car is a show and go piece. Meaning I take it to shows mostly just a cruiser but when I want to get into it I want to know its there. Mostly I love the handling of this car with the way it is set up I have entered a round about going north at 40 mph and came out going west at 38 with the tires in smoke and she stayed right where I wanted her, unlike my nervous co worker that I happened to be car pooling with that day LMAO. Anyway please give your opinions on mani and carb.

Re: Intake and Carb Swap 84Z

IMHO,
If you are using a stock or near stock cam, any dual plane aluminum intake that is stock height would be a good option.

Edelbrock carbs are VERY similar to Q-jets.

Re: Intake and Carb Swap 84Z

Edelbrocks are easy to tune. Like the q-jet they have metering rods, but only for the primaries.
