Removing choke on Holley 1850
I am considering removing the choke on my Holley 1850 during my rebuild. My reasoning is that it is a manual choke and I don't plan on using it, and that I am going to run a very low profile drop base air cleaner and it seems like it would restrict flow.
Any advice on doing this? Is this a waste of time? Thanks!

If you're going to be running a very low profile air cleaner I'd suggest milling the choke horn off completely. The choke horn on a Holley sticks WAY up there. Turns the opening between the choke horn and air cleaner lid into a letter slot. Holleys also seem to be relatively indifferent about the choke horn being in place- they almost always run without complaint after it's removed. They don't start acting "weird" or requiring big changes in calibration.

Just be prepared to give it a minute or two at a high idle (foot on pedal a little), to warm up from dead cold enough to idle by itself.
