variable venturi carburetor
Hello all
I have carbureted mitsubishi lancer 93 .the carb model is aisan variable venturi which had no problem until recently
After the main jet become cloged i had to remove the carburetor and i cleaned it totally readjusted float level cleaned all holes , changed accelerator pump with the one (which was not new though)and so on
After assembling it and fix it on car using new manifold gasket and spacer there are two problems
What ever i do to adjust idle it seems to run rich as i can smell raw fuel through exhaust though it is not constant smell as i listen to exhaust the sounds seems perfect and no smell but about every 10 seconds it just puff very silently and i can smell raw fuel
i even tried leaning as much as possible but even to the point that the cars is dying i can still smell the raw fuel (may be even it becomes more)
I have changed sparks and spark plugs and timing seems correct
Second problem is car used the accelerate very well but now if while cruising
i suddenly step on pedal it gives a little hesitation if i do slowly it is ok
Though is seems overall performance become degraded
I am starting to hate these VV carbs as they are very hard to adjust
Hope you can help me with something
