Throttle cable too long after engine swap
After putting my new 350 in my 92' RS I've noticed that the throttle cable is too long. Now this is a factory cable from what used to be a T.B.I. setup and is now a CARB. Is there a different cable I need to buy for it or can it be adjusted in anyway? Also the carb. is a holley 670cfm I can post a picture of it later tonight if need be. As always I appreciate the help guys!

Sounds like a previous owner swapped cables. The TBI and carb cables are the same length.

Even a TPI cable can be made to work...but the TBI cable is the better option. Take a picture of the cable and bracket setup and post it up.

I should have 2 pics attached here as you can see that's what it's when the pedal is released and it's at idle. I just have that c clip around it for now until I can find a better means for holding it

So it's not the housing that's too long, it's that the cable won't open the carb to wide open when the accelerator pedal is floored.
I haven't heard of a problem like this using a TBI cable on a carb, but what LS1 swappers do is remove the accelerator pedal assembly and put more bend in the pedal arm (need to put it in a vice to do this).
All that really matters is that you can open the throttle fully.

If you get the nice adjustable CSR carb bracket, you can slide the mount for the throttle cable all the way towards the firewall (and leave the TV cable where it is at) and take all of the slack out when the throttle is in closed position.

Re: Throttle cable too long after engine swap
Pancherj is right, I just installed one in my camaro. Love it. Here's the one I got.

It is the gm one and you can adjust both the return springs and the throttle cable. Works with Edelbrock and Holley carburetors, bolts directly to the carb studs on the drivers side. If you go with this bracket you will need longer carb studs for the install. Hope this helps.
