Top not folding down all the way??
Had the car a few months now with the top down no issues, then all of a sudden, it won't fold down all the way so I can't close the cover.....anyone else had this issue, I can't seem to figure it out and don't want to break anything, but I've definitely put force on it and it won't fold down, its about 3-5 too high???

Probably the second bow from the front. Lift it and flip it over as you are lowering it. There were flip rods from from the factory. But most have fallen off over the years. should fix you issue.

Re: Top not folding down all the way??
IT could be that the filp rods mentioned above have become bent. Two options on this. You could purchase reproduction flip rods from Top Down Solutions, I did this twice and both times the rods eventually failed. The other option is what I ultimately did. I removed the filp rods all together and began "Flipping" the bow with my hand as I lowered the top...

Sounds like she's got "the touch." You might better keep her!
Seriously, ask her to show you what she is doing on her side...
One other thing, and after owning my car for about five years I experienced this last week - if your top release handles are not all the way in the unlocked or the locked position they can interfere with the tonneau closing...
Good Luck

Re: Top not folding down all the way??
I've been having the same problem with my top for some time. I've taken it to a number of places and they all scratch their heads. I too have to manually work the bow to lower the top; but after that, the whole thing does not seat properly. That is to say, I have to push the tonneau hard to get it to close over the top. Sometimes I wonder if it's going to pop open while cruising down the road. I've tried adjusting the top here & there (always returning it to the original setting) but that also has had no effect.
Anybody got a clue?

check the pivot bolts on the side mine was stripped and gone and it was moving to much to close right. I ended up drilling through and putting a bolt and nut on it.

I have just released a new and improved version of the Flip Rods. Gone are the sharp 90 degree bends just before the threaded ends of the rods. In it's place on each end is a ball-joint linkage. This allows for some flex as you lower the top.
Attached is a link to the new version of Flip Rods which are in the "Body-Exterior" Category.
